Well, to keep the analogy going, if you were a bricklayer and then one day a pallet of bricks fell on you and smashed your knee, then you would likely continue to be paid on the company insurance until you were fit enough to lay bricks again. I am sure that Jenkinson would rather have been playing football than going through rehab etc.

SCHLUPP STALLED JENKINSON DEAL From SSN - "Carl Jenkinson's move from Arsenal to Crystal Palace stalled when he discovered Jeffrey Schlupp's wages, Sky sources understand. A deal for Jenkinson to move to Selhurst Park permanently looked close to completion when Palace agreed a fee with the Gunners, but Sam Allardyce revealed negotiations with the player's agent were holding up the deal. It is understood talks with Jenkinson were held up when the defender found out Palace were paying another January signing, Schlupp, £56,000 a week, with Jenkinson having been offered £35,000 a week to move to the club."

I do wonder how accurate these stories are. If true I I can understand why Jenkinson wouldn't be happy though on £35k a week I wouldn't go as far to say as I sympathise. You would also have to question the logic of our transfer policy
