SPERONI

TOMKINS DANN DELANEY SCHLUPP

TOWNSEND MCARTHUR CABAYE PUNCHEON

BENTEKE REMY

(BENCH: HENNESSEY, FLAMINI, LEDLEY, LEE, WARD, KELLY, FRYERS)

I'm not certain about this - just amusing myself - the thought crossed my mind of playing Fryers up on the left wing or subbing him for Punch - not sure if that's silly or not!)

Slightly awkward then, seeing as that's his position.

He can do a job out wide too, but he's not really quick enough.

It doesn't seem like he's been at the races, probably because he's not scoring wonder goals as much (slash at all). But that's tactics. Managers have been wanting to get it wide and whip balls across. He still buzzes around, has a decent pass completion rate and puts corners on the money 9 times out of 10.

Puncheon is class. That doesn't change overnight.

2 goals in 48 appearances over 2 seasons, 0 in 17 games this season suggests he is not scoring any goals, Cup final withstanding which isn't enough to merit a place. Gives the ball away too cheaply and slows down attacks by not pushing forward quickly. His only hope is that he usually improves dramatically (not last season where to be honest most of our players were poor) when the Xmas decorations come down.

But there's a massive Wilf-shaped hole in our first team just when we look like needed it most

Really good of him to up and leave when we need him. Suppose it prepares us for when he goes to spurs

Yeah, the selfish little b******, how dare he piss off to represent his third-world country in some no account competition? I mean, what's he EVER done for us? Just for doing that he can f*** off to Spurs anytime he likes; that'll teach him!

Surely Schlupp will be used at left wing, not left back?

I think it shows just how thin the squad still is that no 2 of us can agree a formation, a squad, and every line up involves putting at least 1 player out of position! I still think we have been cursed this year, we set up a squad that on paper was going to be a really strong first 11, with a very thin bench and then half of our team ended up either injured or shockingly out of form!

Still feel this is our weekend though, i think if we start with remy and big ben then teams are going to be more reluctant to go all out attack going forward...
