Possibly he could do with better service, but he looks lethargic. If you are not getting the ball by standing around waiting for someone to give it to you, then you need to move and try to find space and make things happen. He didn't appear to have any energy or ambition today.

Can't play up top on his own. Remy should of started with him. Schlupp should of played too, Ward is an embarrassment of a footballer, I don't know what people see in him... COYP

I didn't realise how little off the ball Tekkers does until he joined us. As a lone front-man he is poor.

Some Palace fans seem to compare him favorably to Carroll. All Benteke seems to have done for us is to cheat a pen for Liverpool last season - since he has joined us his only contribution is to miss crucial pens through his own stupidity. How many more points are we going to allow us to chuck away? Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time!

Awful again today. Loves standing on the edge of the box rather than getting into the penalty area when crosses are come in, doesn't hold ball up and doesn't offer anything. Other than Townsend, can't think of a more disappointing signing.

He is one of the best headers but sh*t with the ball at his feet - even effin penalties! Get down the sides and put some crosses in that he can attack. Don't just blame Benteke - Cabaye, Townsend and Puncheon gave him nothing to feed on all game. First match 5th October 1974 - not a good day!

I dunno whats happened to Bente since his Villa days. He was like fabulous there. Always running at defenders from the middle of the park and terrorising them. Nowadays as a target man he is virtually ineffective. It was the same at Liverpool. Klopp who lets be honest is one of the best obviously realised this and got a major result selling him. Im not sure if he is being played wrong or has just changed but whatever it is it is dire for us. Having watched us today, I can't put my finger on our problem but it seems to be throughout the whole team kind of like a load of heavy metal just no oomph. I mean who had a good game for us? With Wilf out in Africa with the Elephants for another month or so we are going to need some sort of miracle to change what is not a pretty picture. The only spark I saw was when Schluppie came on. It was like an electric shock compared to the rest. He is going to be dynamite. If we get a couple more like that well then there is a chance. The top end of the premier is all about speed. Watched Southampton the other night they were electric. That Redmon class act. Here is hoping we get more speed and energy.
