This is my assessment of our squad at the moment:

Category A - Quality and doing well in the shirt:

Zaha (Away for AFCON)
McArthur

Category B - Quality to good players but not performing:

Puncheon
Dann
Ward
Cabaye
Benteke
Townsend
Tomkins
Delaney

Category C - Need more game time, shown promise when used:

Flamini
Remy
Sako (AFCON)
Speroni
Lee

Category D - Not good enough and getting too much game time ahead of superior players:

Ledley
Hennessey
Kelly (though he's only been used because we had to)

Category E - Untested:

Schlupp

Somehow have you decided who goes in Group B and who goes in Group D?

I would suggest at least half of B should or could be in D.

Mutch did not make the list? should he not have a special category of his very own, for those who wake up every morning and pinch themselves to check that the whole Premiership footballer thing is real.

I honestly forgot about Mutch, Fryers even came to my head before Mutch.

They are all players of an OK quality at least in the Premier League, Ward, Tomkins, Delaney have proved in the past to be passable PL players. Ledley, Hennessey, Mutch for my mind are mid championship players, if that.

What about Campbell? Another one where I can't tell what the potential is, but puts in a shift. Benteke was worse than him today.

Damo should be back up at best. He brings heart but we should have a better number one centre back than him. Ward? Was full of potential but even last season when chipping in with goals wasn't convincing.

Punch has been good for us and at times our best player. I'm starting to wonder if that's the problem though, the bar is too low

We have had a dead cat bounce since Allardyce came in. In my opinion we look worse. He needs time but Hull did ok didn't they.

Okay. He's the least talented player at the club imo. So what if he puts in effort, if he's not good enough he shouldn't be playing. Liability. Loses the ball every time he gets it. Falls over. Kicks the ball out of play when barely under pressure because he has no idea what to do with it. The list goes on. He would do okay at a League 1 club. Period.

All entitled to our opinions. But I reckon yours is wrong. He's not the worst by far. He's got great vision, good dribbling ability and generally works his socks off. I'd be starting him. Was our best player for the first 3 games or so of the season...then as soon as Punch is fit again, he's out.

Underrated.

Just my opinoin, of course

So, while the majority of HoL are killing AP for "decimating" and "gutting" our squad of leaders, you think we should out some more of the 'old school'?

Good thinking 'In Drag With Red On'.

ps I may have got that translation wrong....

We should immediately sell the following deadweights:

Kelly (just not up to the task - average championship player)
Cabaye (ive never understood what the hype is all about)
Ward (would be sad to see him go but has been underperforming for too long now)
Townsend (one trick pony)
Mutch (championship player at best)

Celtic? .... Rodgers is an "admirer" apparently

Ward seems to get a lot of stick for playing out of his natural position?

For me, Punch has been well below par lately. He can do so much better.
