Drop Cabaye

Is it just me or is Cabaye much ado about nothing (trying to be polite with my choice of words!). Spoke to a west ham friend at the game and he said that he hadn't realized Cabaye was even on the pitch until about the 80th min! I would much rather have flamini or lee in the starting eleven.

We need to use him as the release player, by that i mean Ledley/Mac sit in front of defence,with Yohan being the short pass outlet who pings balls forward to Wilf/townsend/Benteke.His passing range is fer nominal.So he does get involved in the dirty work,he is the outlet when we win the ball.

Much ado about nothing . That's the best summing up of Cabaye I have read. His impact on games is minimal. Whatever he is doing it is not helping the team to win. Cabaye was our flagship signing and has to be judged on that basis , that may seem harsh but as someone posted before it's tough at the top. His fans like to point out he played well against the top teams in recent months, but we lost those games and he was culpable in the goals that cost us the game in three of them. Doing well against teams that are better and brush you aside is just being a plucky midfielder along the lines of Bobby Kellard. (although BK would have hit them harder) Against smaller teams when you want him to come to the fore and dominate and win you the game , he doesn't. Our recent record shows we win more games when he doesn't play , no one can explain that. His shooting is generally atrocious , his dead ball kicks are not effective , his number of assists since he joined the club is still one (I think). Generally since he has joined he has been a huge disappointment and the team has gone backwards , fifth at christmas means nothing, we finished 15th and are now floundering. Drop him ? I wouldn't be too bothered if he was . The best thing that could happen is if Sam can find some way of getting him to play like a match winner or the player we thought we signed.

He is obviously a good player you have to be if you are going to play for His country. When he came to us he left PSG so he could get game time and get selected for the Euros and he achieved that. I wonder now that is over if his goals have been achieved so he is now in tick over mode. If this is the case BFS will struggle to get anything out of him, sadley

I would drop Cabaye but we have little to replace him with. I can't see us getting stronger with him, Punch and Remy in the team though - too weak. I want Remy to play but it needs to be either Punch or Cabaye that drops out - oh and Dross Townsend who should go and play with the reserves.
