I agree at least before it seemed like we were at least dangerous to score goals. With Allardyce, it seems we suck at scoring goals and defense. I can't see how this team survives relegation. I will become very difficult for me to watch Palace in the Championship here in the States. The players are choking, plain and simple. The Swansea game is a perfect example, complete embarrassment. Giving up those goals is lack of focus and concentration. Palace has the worst defense and build up play in Premier league.

The glass is half full, it will turn round.....have faith!

Yes, kind of strikes me that it is the supporters who have waved the white flag. SA doesn't strike me as the sort of bloke who would ever give it up, particularly so early in the season / his tenure. Seems that AP had a plan to play a certain way, built the team around it, it didn't work and eventually even SP his biggest fan lost confidence in it, SA is having to find a way of buying players to fit a new system with £20 million.

Our defence is a horror show at the moment. But if Sam can sort that out, then I am pretty sure that the rest will sort itself out. Especially if he doesn't have to sell the crown jewels to get there.

I know everyone is getting into Benteke et al at present, but I can't believe how much stick the attackers are getting in contrast to the defenders. Is it because they are "trying hard" but lack the quality?? Whereas those who have the quality are deemed not to be trying?? It must be a bit demoralising knowing that however many you score, your teammates are going to find a way to let in one more.

A very good analysis DP, one of the key factors missing is a leader on the pitch, someone who can bring everyone together and has respect. Danny is not that person regretfully. A team defends from the front and that isn't happening. Confidence is wafer thin but at times like this everyone has to get back to basics and dig in. Alas many of the team you wouldn't want in the trenches with you and the main one with that depth character is now playing for Aston Villa! Sure his best days were behind him but shere presence in and around the dressing room would at the moment be invaluable.
We need to find that character either already within or purchase which is why IMO we should do everything to get Evra.

I can appreciate calls for a "Leader" but alas the answer doesn't lie with that character at A.Villa.

Fans need to stop being so pathetic and man up just as much as we're demanding the players do. It's that simple and it's still in our hands.

I agree with the OP.

We have just passed the halfway stage so plenty of games left. The three teams below us are quite poor and Hull have a tough next four games to play.

A few purchases in the transfer market should help and also Sammy Lee is supposed to be a fantastic coach.

Total agreement, early days in the SA reign and the problems will be sorted.

I think we need to look at the positives. Despite our form we have yet to be in the bottom three, Meaning there are 3 other teams worse than us. Our form surely has to get better. Win a couple of games and things look a whole lot different. We also have money to spend, Spend it right and on paper we will have a good side and a better chance than a few others of staying in the Premier League.

White flags ?

In Spain the supporters get the 'White handkerchiefs' out to display their feelings against the manager, former players etc. Saw it last night at the Sevilla v Real Madrid game due to the return of Sergio Ramos who left Sevilla for Real Madrid !

I think that the players have got a hunch that the supporters aren't entirely happy with the playing style at the moment, without the need for white handkerchiefs to be waved by one and all.
