Independent reporting Man Utd prepared to sell him. Hope we are looking at him. IMO the one and only spot we MUST fill in this window is the left-back.
First match 5th October 1974 - not a good day! |

He's on huge wages at Utd - over £100k a week if I recall. He'd need to take a huge wage cut to come to us which I couldn't see him doing

Only a rival going for top 4 would pay that wage for a left back and we know for a fact Spurs wouldn't pay it, Arsenal wouldn't and neither would Chelsea ATM. That leaves Liverpool and Man C. Can't see it happening. Would have to be a loan somewhere and 50/50 wage agreement.

Liverpool could bite as they really need a LB almost as much as we do. And lets face it, with his injury record even on a 50-50 wage deal it would be an expensive gamble. Originally posted by Rudi Hedman

He's on huge wages, they bought him for 37,5 million (!!!), which means they wouldn't sell for less than 20-25 million. No point in taking a player on loan if you can't really buy him, you'll only confuse the squad with using him 6 months (integration time). Plus, he's overweight after the injury, he missed for such a long time and, this is just a personal observation and I don't mean it as a personal assault, but he seems prone to getting fat and he might be out of professional football by the time he hits 28-29 (which is still far away, but still....) For all of the above, he wouldn't work in a hard relegation battle
