So I don't think there is a rule that replay ticket prices must match the first game. It's more likely that the 2 clubs have to agree both prices.

Maybe, Bolton wouldn't let us go for less. Thought lower price may have got more fans. Seems £10 for kids was steep when compared to £5 against City. But thanks for the info

oldstand...Southampton was 2 years ago. I begged way in, eventually courtesy Julian Speroni! But, it is a serious competition. No problems with £20. (Got ticket for a 'home' game today - b'mth)

All things considered I don't think it's too dear. Assuming we get 24,000 for the Citeh game that's possibly up to £500,000 gate receipts (probably less depending on the number of juniors/concessions) half of which goes to the opposition. From the remaining 50% the Club needs to prepare & open the stadium, staff it, stewards, policing costs, road closure costs & all the other overheads required on a typical match day. At a guess, there wouldn't be much (if any) left after all that lot - even in the SJ era he was quoted as saying it could cost £100k just to run a big game. Ultimately it's cost me £2 extra for me & my lad to attend compared to last night.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

£25 not unreasonable and I'll be able to take my kids for £5 each which is a great price compared to £20 for a league match.

Christ. These days £25 is often one round in a London pub if you're with 5/6 people. For that you get to watch an FA Cup tie, against a Guardiola team that may well take it seriously given their league position and for an extra £10 you can take TWO children. I also think it's really good that the £5 price goes all the way up to U18, making it excellent value for teenagers, who may not get to go very often. I think it's very fair.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |
