Very promising debut. And his name fits nicely into Van Hallen's jump.

He impressed me today with his defensive work and his pace. Only bit missing was the quality of his ball into the box. He kept the left side solid all game: the only time it broke was the 30 seconds he was waiting to get back on at the end.

Didn't he put the cross in that Benteke headed onto the bar?

I think that was Cabaye, it was a right-footed player but it was Schlupp who got down the line to create the opportunity.

This thread reminds me of an identical reaction to Sako's debut for us.

The one where we complimented his pace and defensive abilities?

I can't find it either.

It WAS Mac Arthur who played well .... but so did Schlupp considering it was his debut.

The report at the bottom of the page says he is now injured and will be out for a while.

Ouch. I hope not. We have had some bad injuries this season. Got to have cost us a few points.

Just when it looks like we're about to have a balanced side with Schlupp and Wilf... I think we'll appreciate Van Aanholt's attacking threat down the left even more now.

Well it has to be in the next 48 hours if it's happening, and the next 24 hours if we've any hope of his playing v. Bournemouth
