Whatever your thoughts on the subject of Pardew, it doesn't matter anymore.
He's done his damage and now he's £3m better off and probably sunning himself on a beach somewhere.
Makes me laugh when I hear about how he was a perfect fit for us and that he knew 'what we were about'.
Nonsense.
Still, I know a few Palace who'll welcome a return to The Championship. And they'll have super Alan Pardew to thank for that.

Wrong we will have fat Sam to thank, we wasn't in the bottom 3 when he took over. Did pardew deserve to get sacked, yes, was allardyce the obvious replacement, yes but the fact is we have gone backwards under him. Pulis had done it with a far poorer squad, allardyce achieved it last season with Sunderland. With our squad and half a season the current manager has to take responsibility for where we end up come the last day of the season.

You still don't seem to see the fact that the damage has been done over the last couple of years and not over the last month.
Pardew started brightly enough but there's a pattern in his management so called skills and it was there for all to see at his previous clubs.
We were warned about this and its all come true.
I still don't understand how anyone can defend a man that has left us in this mess. It wasn't that long ago that he was touting himself for the England job.
Talk about having your cake and eating it and taking the piss too!
He's a charlatan and I can't see him ever being offered a job at a premier league club again.
Unless they need someone to make the tea.

I really don't think we would have been relegated with AP in the job, mainly because he knew the players and could have reverted to the former tactics, albeit the loss of bolassie reduced the impact of break aways.

Not at all sure, so far, that SA has the stomach for this fight right now and seems a little uncertain on who/how to field

just some thoughts

and yes sadly, I can't now see us staying up

delighted for you all to remind me i was wrong in a few months time

Pulis had a better TEAM of players when he took over and quickly sorted out tactics and bought a couple of players as well.
When AP took over he also had a good TEAM which he proceeded to slowly tear apart by getting rid of stronger characters than him.
He tried to change things too fast and frankly did not GET Palace at all!
He made some dreadful buys when players he got rid of were better and more suited to CPFC and who did GET it!
Add a lack of tactical acumen like taking off a midfielder and replacing him with a Striker with a few mins to go when you are 1-1 with Man Utd and in desperate need of points and a lift in morale then you have a bad Manager who would have continued to destroy us.
Sam may not be the right man in the long term but i trust him more than Pardew to get us out of trouble!

What worries me most is what's going on with our players? Apart from Sunderland the other clubs down there with us are starting to find some form. New managers are working for them. Like most of us I really don't understand and cannot explain how Palace have ended up like this. Something's very wrong with our team. It's not simply Pardew or SA. Are they confused? P*ssed off? Angry? Disheartened? Or just resigned to relegation? I feat that their confidence is so low they cannot respond to changes. Something or someone needs to inspire them and very fast. This isn't Palace I'm watching.

But that's exactly simply who it is. You almost summed it up.
I had to endure a few years, home and away, watching him prance about on the pitch from the terraces.
And some years later watch him ruin a decent mid table premier league team.
I only wish Allardyce or A.N.Other had been given the job last summer and then we could all be looking forward to 2 feisty derbys against the scum next season.

Great legacy, that.

If you ignore the FA Cup final and top 10 finishes yes. Fact is seasons do not run over a calender year. Alan Pardew has not had a single bad season overall. Season 1: Took over a struggling team and finished in the top 10. Season 2 kept us out of the relegation zone all season and took us to the FA Cup final. And nearly won it too. Season 3: not once in the relegation zone and manager of the month nominee in September.

So now we don't hold Sam accountable for anything that happens from here on and just continue to blame pardew. His paid a stupid amount of money and is supposedly one of the best British managers, there's no excuses, I couldn't care how pardew has left us, allardyce is paid to sort it out. If we stay up he deserves the plauditsp, if we go down his as responsible as pardew.

Exactly like his previous managerial jobs...starts off great then goes downhill.
As for the relegation zone, he was always taking us there. Just didn't get the chance to finish the job. The sack (or mutual consent) saw to that.
As for the cup, Punch.
Nuff said.

And are poorer.
