My player ratings for our game against Everton. I think we've improved since our last matches, Sam's starting to settle and it won't be long before things click. Feel free to add your own or destroy my ratings if you wish haha.

Hennessey - 5
Beaten at his near post quite badly for the goal but had kept us in the game with a few saves albeit only one wasn't straight at him. Spilled the ball too often and saved by the offside flag for Barkleys nearly opener.
Tomkins - 5
Passed aimlessly and looked like he struggled against Mirallas and Barkleys.
Dann - 7
Nearly scored a brilliant header for Robles to somehow get a finger tips save to it, also had a good chance minutes before. Defended well in the middle of a back 3.
Delaney - 6
Standard performance from Damo, didn't do a lot wrong but still ends up punting the ball forward to no one with his left boot.
Ward - 6
Looked ok playing a slightly more forward role, defended well on his preferred side but didn't offer a threat going forward which left us a bit unbalanced on the right.
Cabaye - 6.5
Started really well putting himself about and getting hurt when he kept the ball in play before slipping over on the hardstanding. Got tired as the game went on and eventually disappeared before being substituted for Ledley.
Puncheon - 6.5
Kept the ball well at times but also held onto it too long when he shouldn't have. Looks improved from his last performances.
McArthur- 7
Good game for James, pressured Evertons midfield and made it difficult for Barry to settle in. Helped start numerous attacks and looked likely to thread Remy through on goal a few times.
Schlupp- 7
Brilliant signing by the looks of things, defended for almost the whole of the first half and didn't make a single mistake. Didn't allow much Everton play down his side. Got injured when trying to put a cross in which the ref ignored after the ball went out of play and then we were left to defend with 10 and conceded. Not Schlupps fault but hopefully he is ok for City.
Remy - 8
Could form a good partnership with Benteke if they can play off each other, carried the ball forward well and looks like all he needs is to get in behind the defence to get goals.
Benteke - 7
Not as bad as people will say, had a fantastic header dip into the cross bar early on. A few inches lower and it's a goal, also had a shot saved in the second half. Put more work in during the second half than the first suggesting to me he's had a kick up the back side!

Think you're being hard on hennessey ward and cabaye. Hennessey had no chance for the goal. Ward had his best game for a long while and cabaye worked his socks off and got won a lot of the ball in midfield.

Agreed. Hennessey kept us in it.

Wayne was excellent today. If Mandanda had played the same game then everyone would have been singing his praises... That said, he does have a worrying habit of spilling shots which will cost him, but as a number 2 keeper I think he did very well.

Don't think anyone did that badly today, we were playing a team that tonked city 4-0, and we were five minutes away from getting probably our best result of the season. Reasons to be cheerful :-)

All 7,except McArthur and Benteke 6 apiece.
Hennessey would have got 8 but his spilling a shot and the hoofed clearance set up their goal unfortunately.
