Possibly just the merest hint of sweeping generalisation? That's a pretty wide brush you're tarring all parents with... We need to be careful here...push this whole thing to it's extremities and you end up with situations like the Scottish government trying to appoint a state guardian (not his / her parents) to monitor every child's wellbeing. When this went to the supreme court, it was thrown out. The presiding justices observed...“The first thing that a totalitarian regime tries to do is to get at the children, to distance them from the subversive, varied influences of their families, and indoctrinate them in their rulers’ view of the world.” As it goes, my wife and I talk to our children at home about all the issues you listed. I also spent 19 years as a classroom teacher. Interesting feedback. What was your experience of the subject when having taught it (?) for 19 years?
