That was probably a statement about his general footballing prowess rather than his injury status.

That's probably because, in light of 2016, our current league position and our trajectory, we aren't a very attractive prospect. It was always going to be a struggle, made worse by the problems of the January window, that are already well-documented.

And to think in the January we stayed up the first season, we managed to sign: Ledley, Dann, Hennessey, made Puncheon permanent and Tom Ince. In such an overpriced market, it's disappointing that we can't identify options like those in the Championship or abroad. Instead we still only seem to be in for very expensive PL players. Granted that in the Championship for every Antonio you get a Bamford or Ince but it's the clubs and scouts who know their stuff that get those special few.

I wonder if that's the case with Jenkinson and Palace walked away from the table and said "fine, we'll go elsewhere", only for the agent to go "ok, maybe we could adjust our terms". Agents know Palace are very keen to get new bodies, but I don't think SP is willing to overpay unless we absolutely have to (hence some of the cat and mouse games of recent windows). Come the 11th hour I imagine agents, under pressure from their clients, will suddenly drop their demands a bit. I'm betting on two permanent new signings and possibly a loan at the last minute when a bigger deal falls through.

All good points Dave, my only concern is that we turn into the QPR of a few seasons ago and buy them all and they all turn out to be s***e. They went onto financially ruin that club.

I'm not convinced how good our scouting network actually is currently. An additional problem is that SA only joined a week before the window so, in our current predicament, it's understandable that he's trying to recruit the tried and tested who can (hopefully) hit the ground running.
