Great point and has been glaring for months IMO.

Puncheon's strengths have been finding himself half a yard, carrying the ball and getting a quality pass or shot off. Now he's hit 30 and lost a bit of zip he can't affect the game in the same way.

MacArthur needs to play deeper than last week and should be the first choice midfield player.

Puncheon is f*cking pony. It's like playing with 10. Im expect him to finish the season on no goals. Not even championship level winger and as a number 10 is a f*cking joke. If he stays in the team we will get relegated. Slows down every attack. Bin him. I'm not a fan.

Puncheon was one of the main reasons we stayed up first two seasons. Just age catching up now or Pardew's fitness regime.

I agree , punch has been dreadful all season,he slows down everything. Why didn't we just keep him as a winger, pullis had the right idea, keep him as far away from midfield and defence as possible!

Your right and Ian Wright was our best player in the 90s, probably wouldn't get a game now though.

The ages of some of the players on which we rely has been highlighted. This transfer window has shown how many players in their early twenties (who do not play for Palace) are regarded. Noting that Mr Rooney first played in the Everton First Team at sixteen, I wonder when we will next play some of our young players - rather than loaning them out. They will find that what they have (pace and ball skills) are parts of a total footballer and they will learn their areas for improvement. Better to play them before they count towards our named 25. Puncheon has a lot more defensive intelligence than a lot give him credit for. I think the problem in our midfield has been the absence of a real number 10 or defensive midfielder and the declining fitness and energy of Punch, Cabaye, Ledley and yes, to an extent even McArthur, has given us a very soft core to the side. Btw I think the stat still stands that we've yet to win a PL match since promotion without Puncheon in the team.

Signing Schlupp and PVA should give us more of an outlet on the left so our breakouts can go either flank. Last season out left side was such a threat with Bolasie and Souare, now we look to have got some of that pace back into the left side and Zaha is twice the player he was last year.

We were good for the first half of last season because our midfield worked well, were combative, we won the ball then bombed out through the wings; particularly the left. You can see Allardyce wants to restore that left side. Plus I think this is why he's also after Jenkinson, lets face it, Ward doesn't contribute enough going forward.

The fact we have to play 3 centre midfielders when a lot of teams play 2 , tells us there's a problem. Because of this we play one up front against Swansea (bottom of the league at the time )at home , is a f*cking joke. West Brom came to Palace with 2 up front and we played one, because of our weak midfield , it's b*llocks. We need a 15stone 6ft 4 African (who's out of the afcon) holding midfielder and one other in the middle , then 2 up front.

Sam Allardyce confirmed it in his pre-Man City press conference and it's been all over the media. Have you been visiting another planet recently?
