5 of the 6 houses are council houses, whose tenants rent from Croydon Council

1 of the 6 houses was bought from the council many years ago under 'right to buy' and the owner lives abroad and privately rents it our to tenants.

Word on the street is that CPFC have opened a dialogue with the tenants with a view to finding them alternative homes in the local area.

No idea how things are progressing with Sainos

Maybe they ought to offer them houses somewhere nice instead?

Imagine you live in one of those 6 houses that are being knocked down and you also have had a season ticket in block E for the past 25 years....

|You'd probably end up so mad at the club that you'd go and torch the Main Stand to teach them........Oh! hang on.....

Slow steps then. Probably because they arenít serious and would rather sell the club with planning permission. I wouldnít blame them in a way but there are seriously wealthy American shareholders and investors not stumping up for something which is a necessity and something that was spoken about/agreed, and they can afford.

Maybe they might take the plunge if we rebuild the team successfully after sales of prize assets in Zaha and/or Bissaka but thatíll be the only way I can see us being really clear and very confident of survival for several seasons into the future, if we spend well of course. Otherwise itíll be us struggling to compete financially because we donít have the new stand, and we wonít build the new stand because we canít be safer from relegation because we canít compete financially.

Pure assumptions without any known facts.

You can ask me directly if you like.

The answer is no, what I tend to do in my life is look at things objectively.

Parish has indeed presided over our longest tenure in the top flight but my view is that is somewhat more through luck than judgement.

He has definitely done some things well, but in greater numbers he has made gaff after gaff when decisions needed to be made.

Parish is going nowhere though, so his fans and his critics better strap in for the long haul.

How do you know he has made gaff after gaff? That is only an opinion. We are still in the premier, still in thecup, still moving forward with development. Maybe what you think was gaffs could actually have been very good moves maybe not.

Itís understood you have a generally negative opinion about most things Palace related. All posts are based on opinions from a little bit of knowledge.
What we do know is Palace has a group of owners not just one man. The new stand has issues with planning, local residents and Sainsburyís owning land required. Sainsburyís and Argos are in the middle of a proposed merger/takeover, so whatís going on at Selhurst is low on their agenda.
When issues are out of your direct control it is a long process, you canít just kick tenants out of houses you want to purchase, not like block E.
Palace donít get everything right, but overall there is more positive than negative

I have posted on this topic some time ago, hoping to offer some limited insight as I am a local Council planner myself (not in Croydon).

The construction timescales the club were aiming for always seemed very optimistic to me, given the complexities of the process they have to navigate once planning permission is in place. If they don't break ground on the new stand for another year it wouldn't make it a particularly unusual project.

Quite how this all leads anyone to conclude that the club have made a mess of things, or the Americans are pulling out, or whatever else, I really don't know. My professional opinion is that CPFC have overcome a series of very significant hurdles in getting this far, and done so in a remarkably short period of time. A little dose of reality regarding very large, complicated and multi-faceted developments in London is now creeping in to the project, but that was bound to happen sooner or later.

As a fan, I'm more than chuffed with how far they've got in the time they've taken.

I thought we were still waiting for final approval from the Mayor of London?

"The Mayor considers that the application does not fully comply with the London Plan and the draft London Plan, for the reasons set out in the accompanying report; but that the possible remedies set out in the report could address these deficiencies."

RE: "Sainsburyís and Argos are in the middle of a proposed merger/takeover, so whatís going on at Selhurst is low on their agenda".

Not that it makes any difference but it is a Sainsburys/Asda proposed merger.

Something needs to be done as the main stand is 95 years old and has a lot of wood in it. The spectre of the Bradford City fire remains.
