Rubbish their is different levels to fitness you can't just say well text book fitness about the human body this time is fine.

When it comes to sports fitness each sport has different levels example is a boxer you get him to play football he wont be fit to play that sport because it requires a different type.

Now if you have a different manager come in as has happened with Palace wanting to play a different type of football then they need to retrain to work on fitness style to suit that play this is hard to do when you have busy periods of games because routine is the key.

Look at Pep when he came to City he straight away stated the players are not what he expects fitness wise and even months later into the season still mentioned it.

Every incoming manager in the history of football has said the players arent fit enough. 5 weeks is plenty of time to have made a difference. They might not be exactly where he wants them but they should have improved markedly by mow.

We fielded a very weak team today with many players who've been branded Championship level on these boards against a strong City line up.

Despite this we were far from hopeless. If Remy had put away the gilt edged chance he had it would have been interesting.

Perhaps we are so desperate to find for that green shoot of recovery we are deluding ourselves into thinking there are some signs of improvement.

But, I too thought we weren't that bad. I think there are some signs of us looking a bit more organised and having more shape. I didn't come away from the game feeling that we are doomed. I think with a full strength ( or near to) side we can still turn it around. A shame Schlupp went off though - he looks a good buy.

Must admit I'd hoped for bigger reaction when Allardyce took over but have a bit of faith that he's recognised the simple stuff like the need to organise better when we don't have the ball and inject some pace into the team. The Schlupp injury is a killer - feels like everything is against us.

The level of favouritism shown by refs towards the top teams is scandalous and was apparent today. Toure made no attempt at all to play the ball when he fouled Mutch but the officials sh!t themselves.

No doubt we will sign him in about five years when he totally washed out and grubbing round for a pension pay off.

You really do not know what you are on about please stop commenting.

Do you not listen different levels of fitness are required for different styles of play and you can not correct fitness levels correctly when you have to be playing a load of games in short periods of time.

Now if it was pre season then yes you would expect to see improvement in 5 weeks because you can stick to a schedule this is difficult during the season and the fixtures for Palace have been awful play on sat then again tues that is not enough time even for players that are at peak fitness sports science data even backs this up.

The other thing you are forgetting is Sam has only just got some staff members in which have been at the club what 2 weeks sports science guy not even a week also there has been a lot of injuries.

So just of out interest, who would you blame? Pardew presided over the worst run weve ever had in 2016, any other manager in the league would have been fired long before Pardew was.....WHO would you blame?

All things considered, I don't think the game was that bad - certainly didn't come away thinking we'd embarrassed ourselves or not put up a fight.

Much has been made of Toure not being sent off but I'm trying to find a video of Delph trying to take Ward out early on. Looked two-footed from where I was sat & he certainly left a couple of large divots in the pitch. Ward just got up & got on with it but it looked a bit too 'Rojo' to be ignored by the ref.

Citeh's new Jesus looks a properly good player though & was probably the main influence on their game.

What will look daft though is if Palace and Brighton end the season swapping leagues. We'll have every right to be their laughing stock with bragging rights fairly belonging to the seasiders.

Some Man City fans were asking why the game was so badly attended. Presumably £25 a ticket was too steep.
