Any group of fans that sings at football matches is all right by me. I hope they don't give up through the negativity of some.

Look at all the great great clubs whose stadia have fallen silent. What would stop that happening at Palace without the likes of the HF.

The HF are a flame that refuses to die out. A tiny bit annoying sometimes but when things get exciting, the rest of us can follow their lead (or that of the folks in the Arthur).

Without that you become like Man U or Watford or Arsenal or Liverpool or Everton or Stoke...the list goes on and on.

I had to miss Man City so can't comment on the game. It was my lad's birthday. He was as gutted as me not to be there.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

The atmosphere was pretty good on Saturday, considering it was a sub championship attendance. Let's keep getting behind the team. It's difficult at the moment, but in truth we have had a few good years, and now we need brilliant support for a really struggling side. For those of you new to the club- this is what life is normally like!

In the arfur a couple of rallying fans started a conga eventhough we were 2 nil down and they were starting the "we're the arfur .......we're the arfur over 'ere chants.
I brought much light releif to an otherwise non eventful day.

No one was being 'ripped off'. Attendance at a sporting event is an entirely voluntary activity and, if you don't like the pricing structure, then don't go. Obtaining tickets, to which you were not entitled, fraudulently, is not the answer and those with invalid tickets were quite rightly refused admission. If the rest of them decide to then have a flounce that's entirely up to them.

They have, quite rightly, no say in the running of Crystal Palace FC and represent a tiny proportion of the total support. Their self-important posturing is becoming increasingly tedious. We managed perfectly well before them, and we'll continue to do so when they're gone.

My personal view is that what they supposedly bring to the atmosphere is somewhat overblown. Their major contribution now is smashing away on a drum and droning away in the corner with the vast majority of the rest of the ground not joining in. I have considerably more time for the group in the top corner of the Arthur Waite who at least stick to singing the 'classics'.

It's 'Wait' not 'Waite'. Our greatest ever chairman too.

Wow people never miss a chance to have a dig at the HF. I agree with your first point but completely disagree with what you are saying about them not really bringing atmosphere to the ground. They sing for the whole game and try to encourage the team (well most of the time anyway). Other fans hardly ever join in with them but that isn't their faul, they can't force people to sing. They do their best to try and create an atmosphere and these days it is just them and a few other people around the stadium who join in. I wouldn't say that the lads in the Arthur create a better atmosphere, in the odd game they come together and sing but usually they just occasionally join in with the singing or make no noise at all.

There's a reason why I chose to sit in the lower holmesdale. Have sat in every other stand and the atmosphere isn't as good.

Without the HF the atmosphere would be dead,at my age I'm past all the singing etc but do appreciate what they try to create both home and away,I do go to quite a few away games and without their vocal support we as a club would be like the Emirates and other such places. OK they do have their strange moments but overall if they wern't around they would be missed.

They can do their own thing, that's their right.
But I think these days they are over rated and not the force they once were.
In the past they have been really loud ,and sung good new songs, but right now to me they seem a bit jaded and half hearted .

Just a guess but like the rest of us they probably buy their own seats online. The club probably noticed that most of the tickets in theur section were U18 and suggested they were checked. My pal is 49 yrs old and had an u18 ticket and got in no problem. He spent the extra ticket money on beer so the club got it anyway.

They're as loud as ever. If they seem quieter that's because many are not joining in with them now as we struggle. They appear to do their thing for them and if others join in, good, If not that's their decision.
They get plenty of stick from rival fans on social media, who also seem to have a childish problem with them. As I keep saying there's no correct way to support a team. They've chosen this route, so good luck to them, Selhurst is definitely louder because of them.

Overall I think they've been very good for this club.
Most of the displays have done us all proud. Where I think they go wrong is bringing politics into it. I don't care about some nightclub on the other side of London closing down or what they think about Sky's filthy lucre when I'm at Selhurst.
Other than that though, I think they've been doing a bang up job.
I couldn't sit near that bloke with the drum though.
