Quite, whilst I am sceptical and wary of the supernatural as an explanation, metaphysics is not just limited to the supernatural. Metaphysics in relation to qualities, is I believe, perfectly acceptable. Existentially, as well, the absence of something, is as relevant as the presence of something in the defining of experience. As reality and the external world can only be experienced subjectively, then both the real and the not real are equally important, provided the not real is known or knowable. Eventually, reductionist approaches must accept that some quality of happiness exists that is 'sublime' in its nature. It appears to to have no rational or measurable quality and to be altered by observation.
