I don't think he's very far behind benteke quality wise, and offers something different. If he had a run of games he could easily go on a run and finish our top scorer next season.

It's the run of games that's the problem. Man of glass!

He scored the goal that got us to the wembley final. Would love to see him string a run of games together.

He're a chap who has the talent and really wants to play on a regular basis but he keeps getting thwarted by a succession of injuries. It must be awfully frustrating for the poor lad - think of it from his point of view.

Guys and Girls thoughts please on Connor Wickham
Before we got him from Sunderland I saw rumours that we were interested in him my 1st thought was Oh God followed quickly by saying to myself Please shut the transfer window Now as I don't rate him as a premier league Forward. Yes he's strong and fairly good in the air but I honestly don't see him being anything other than a Championship player . So would you keep him in the summer or get rid and try to recoup some of the 9 million we wasted on him. Conner if your reading this its nothing personal I just care about my Club don't want them to waste any more money on your wages for getting treatment 24/7

KEEP HIM !

It's a frustrating time for him the thing is to get fully fit don't carry any problem.

Murray made a come-back from the same injury and has been doing well also Connor is only 23.

Do hope he succeeds in a Palace shirt.

The guy's quality. Great striker. Wish he'd stay fit for a prolonged period of time!

Feel so sorry for him. Every time he finds a bit of form he gets injured. Thought him and Benteke were starting to look like a proper partnership and then he did his ACL. Kind of epitomised the bad luck we've endured over the last 18 months.

as good as the guy is when fit he's too prone to injury & for that reason I'd move him on.

Up until his most recent injury I thought he was looking the best I have seen him since he joined the club. Yes he is injury prone but I agree with the comment earlier in the thread that he needs to be working with proper fitness coaches. When you looked at us as a team generally under AP we looked unfit which is probably the reason why we were conceding so many late on.

As for ability, he definitely has it and can play at this level. He still has a lot to learn and will benefit from watching Remy in training, but if he does get the positional side of his game sorted out he could be a real handful. A fit Benteke, Remy and Wickham is a good line-up of centre forwards. In short, if his injury heals properly then I would keep him.

You cant justify your last statement We got him during the summer window after the fantastic run we had in the 2nd half of the season (Pardews first half since joining) so can you tell me how you think he hasn't been able to play because we were in freefall????? You don't make any sense

Oozes quality IMO and still only 23. Would love to see him when we have a team that’s full of confidence. Since we signed him last January the whole squad has been pretty dire – with the exception of 2 or 3 players so he should not be singled out. If anything, he’s been great on the rare occasion the team played well and he was playing. It hasn’t be easy for him joining a team in freefall and suffering from long injuries so I don’t believe he’s had a real opportunity to shine.

Cracking option for us next season … whether it be the Prem or the Championship!
