....my wife.
Shes not a lover of the mystical game, not even when the players wore tight shorts more akin to hot pants and they had those crinkly perms. However every now and then she succumbs with the prospect of a meal out and the company of friends not often seen.

The thing is she has never seen palace win a league game and shes going to the game v sunderland. She says "we are doing really well as we are 18th out of all the teams in england" ....and "we have that famous bloke who managed the england team , I bet all the other teams want him " she says nudging her friend with her elbow.

So what do I do , bite my scarf and act normal, let her watch the game and impart her footy knowledge to the spectators Or do I just put one too many pillows on her side of the bed and put neat vodka in her tablet water and wait for the pillows to topple and smother her.

That sounds like a nightmare situation but I think you must have got yourself into it somehow without thinking it through properly. It would be great if your good lady was Palace through and through take her every week but otherwise it must spoil your day. I have been with my wife for 25 years and the closest she has got is dropping me off outside. She did say the cup final at Wembley sounds good I could make that my first game. No thanks darling. Good luck to all mate

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

.... the weather!

If it's cold and wet I wouldn't fancy running around for 95 minutes. Team should be reclothed in bobble hats, cagoules and wellies. Goalkeepers could have umbrellas.

Donald Trump. He seems to be getting blamed for everything else!

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

I absolutely hate having to go to football each week. Don't get me wrong, once I'm there I'm in heaven. The crowd, the atmosphere the Crystals. The reason I hate going is because I have to kiss my f***ing wife goodbye.

My gran used to ask, "Wouldn't it be easier to score a goal if the players didn't keep getting in each other's way?"
