I don't think any of the players wilfully underperfomed against Sunderland, in fact we started the game quite well. But confidence is very brittle at the moment, and once that first goal went in it was shattered and fear took over.
Any fool can support a team when they are doing well, but when things are going wrong in games that's when support is needed most.
It was sad to hear the "not fit to......"chant ,and not one that I joined in with, and those idiots by the tunnel screaming abuse at the players at the end of the match were absolutely pathetic and were wannabe tv stars.
As for the guy who ran on to confront Delaney he was way out order, there is no excuse for that and he should be banned for a long time.

I hope the person gets a life time banned.

I agree with all of that.
Booing yes - but the rest of it - definitely not!
It will do no good in the long term.
Let's hope that Saturday was a cathartic moment in the Season where everyone - Fans included - step back and take a long hard look at themselves!

Its frustrating all round the players are on the poorest of runs at home which isn't helped by a toxic atmosphere .I think Damo just expects our support ,he's one of the few that deserve it .

The fans have been more than patient. We've put up with so much s*** at home in the last year it was always going to get to this point if it continued.

In my opinion when you're earning per week what most earn per year and you're underperforming you just take the f***ing abuse and be a professional. These aren't non league players (although with their performances you might think so) so need to get over it.

My love for Delaney ended on Saturday after yet again he gestured to the fans. Hope he sits on the bench until end of contract then f***s off now.

Continuous support in last 12 months has done no good. Perhaps booing and abuse is the thing that might finally get through to this bunch of morons.

At the end of the day if you're doing a bad job but all you get is clapped then why would you ever think you're doing a bad job? However if shouted and and told you're s*** or not fit to wear the shirt perhaps you might try a bit harder

The ball was about to run out of play giving us a throw. We would then have then been boxed in by our corner flag, so he tried to shift the ball further up the pitch, and it went out of play. So what! He didn't need the non football thinking morons behind the goal to goad him for thinking safety. Delaney is coming to the end of his time, but what is sad is that some people have forgot what a warrior he has been for us, and without his last ditch tackles and leadership, we probably wouldn't be in this division at all. It's like kicking your dog cos he shat on the carpet once at the end of his days, when he has been a faithful friend over many years. Your post has made me lose all faith in so called Palace fans. Very sad. Maybe it's time for you to move on and support somebody else?

If you were a season ticket holder (you're not) travelling two hours each way to a game (you don't) to see a lack of passion and effort from players and then to have Delaney have a go at the fans you might feel differently.

No one is forgetting that he was once good for us. He no longer is. He doesn't feel any passion towards the club otherwise he wouldn't act like he did (and has before) towards the fans. I don't blame him for not having passion as it's a job but it does mean that I don't feel any particular loyalty to him.

As for that chestnut, grow up. None of us care what division we're in. All we demand is passion and effort. When that goes, we get justifiably pissed off.

Once in over 45+ years of supporting the club. I have been going enough away games, 20 years unbroken at one stage to see some serious dross, and travelling many many hours by road and rail, but to single out one player in a whole bad team performance is wrong. He looked like he made a calm down gesture from where I was. He is just as frustrated as we are no doubt.

True, poor comment from me there. Just as angry as you.

He should've known he had time and nobody within 10 yards of him.

Those that watch football and don't understand these little intricacies apart from 'must sing no matter what' or twirl their scarves around will never understand. Try watching players a bit closer. You will see before they receive the ball they have a little look left and right. Damo did neither. He should have the awareness before even looking to see if there was any pressure. How many times do you see this happen in prem football? Just an 'oh feck it this'll do. Oh coim down. It's under control. It's only a throw in we gladly let them have a free one two with whereas we struggle to find a shirt with our's.

Fed up with this slack sh1t. ASAP we can replace any slack sh1t with the new players. Slack sh1t has crept it in with that man but it was alright because he scored a header from 2 yards out at villa that half the holmesdale were too young or not even born to remember but hailed him as a god.

FWIW I didn't sing 'You're not fit to wear the shirt' because I can see its confidence that's the issue. If Hennessey didn't drop that ball we'd still be in the game. But that lazy turn and hoof/slice down the line deserved a moan.

Delaney has been a tremendous servant and who would have predicted that he would do so well over the years particularly in the PL.

Here was a player we got on a 'Free', who was viewed as a utility player had played at left-back for Hull and QPR, was not the most technically gifted and who wasn't the quickest.

He is a 'No-Nonsense' old school defender with distribution never his strong suite ! Yes on Saturday he screwed his clearance out etc etc but this could be symptomatic of a lack of confidence and the pressure players are under, not forgetting the fear factor.Players more gifted than him have done similar things !

In different circumstances, there wouldn't be this debate on HOL but alas supporters are all on 'Edge" due to our perilous position and venting of spleens at Selhurst and HOL is perhaps understandable given our dire 'Home' record.
