He should've known he had time and nobody within 10 yards of him.

Those that watch football and don't understand these little intricacies apart from 'must sing no matter what' or twirl their scarves around will never understand. Try watching players a bit closer. You will see before they receive the ball they have a little look left and right. Damo did neither. He should have the awareness before even looking to see if there was any pressure. How many times do you see this happen in prem football? Just an 'oh feck it this'll do. Oh coim down. It's under control. It's only a throw in we gladly let them have a free one two with whereas we struggle to find a shirt with our's.

Fed up with this slack sh1t. ASAP we can replace any slack sh1t with the new players. Slack sh1t has crept it in with that man but it was alright because he scored a header from 2 yards out at villa that half the holmesdale were too young or not even born to remember but hailed him as a god.

FWIW I didn't sing 'You're not fit to wear the shirt' because I can see its confidence that's the issue. If Hennessey didn't drop that ball we'd still be in the game. But that lazy turn and hoof/slice down the line deserved a moan.

I get your points, but trust me, when you have someone like Defoe scampering after you from all angles it can be very unsettling and panic takes over. Sometimes you just don't have the time regardless. Sam told the defenders not to let Defoe get behind them, but that is what happened for the goal. But how do you stop it if a player is more mobile than your three center halves. Class players seem to have an age on the ball which you rightly say they make themselves, but with the lack of confidence at the moment I would feel inclined to shift the ball out of danger asap. I think as Sam has said, it's going back to basics. Not pretty and not to everybodies taste, but it's getting desperate on the pitch as well as off it with us supporters. And your right, a moan was the right thing, but a total slagging off of an individual when others were just as bad, and a supporter on the pitch, I'm not so sure.

Shall we stop with the bollocks and stick to the facts? No punches were thrown.

He runs on the pitch and pulls his coat open to point at the Palace badge on his top. Totally understand his frustration at Delaney and the f***ing rest of them.

Fair enough.... I wasn't trying to exaggerate things I was only going on all the reports I'd read regarding a punch being thrown.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

The idiot who confronted Delaney is lucky he didn't get a punched himself, I thought Damien showed great restraint.
This is second time this season some fool has run on to confront one of our players, and thanks to them no doubt the club will get punished, and our reputation as being great supporters tarnished.

Personally think a bit too much has been made of the guy on the pitch, He stood face to face with Delaney and was talking to him. Press turn that into a fan tried to attack Delaney. Wrongly He lost his s*** and got carried away, never looked like he was trying to be ggresive until the security grabbed him. The fella is 23yrs old made a mistake, has apologised and wont be able to watch the club for a while.

Delaney has been a tremendous servant and who would have predicted that he would do so well over the years particularly in the PL.

Here was a player we got on a 'Free', who was viewed as a utility player had played at left-back for Hull and QPR, was not the most technically gifted and who wasn't the quickest.

He is a 'No-Nonsense' old school defender with distribution never his strong suite ! Yes on Saturday he screwed his clearance out etc etc but this could be symptomatic of a lack of confidence and the pressure players are under, not forgetting the fear factor.Players more gifted than him have done similar things !

In different circumstances, there wouldn't be this debate on HOL but alas supporters are all on 'Edge" due to our perilous position and venting of spleens at Selhurst and HOL is perhaps understandable given our dire 'Home' record.

People talk about the lack of leadership and how we gave up on the players who got us here too early.

If anything, perhaps we persisted with them too long? After all, we were crap with Jedinak in the team last year.

We have seen some remarkable things from the likes of Delaney, Puncheon and Ledley (and to a lesser extent Ward) in the last few years.

They've played above themselves consistently and given everything for the team.

Over time they've individually had bad games, but we've been able to cope with that. The problem now is that (perhaps inevitably) we're dealing with three or four of them having bad games.

If you go into a game like Saturday and have four players having an absolute stinker, including your two central midfielders, then you're going to be in trouble.

I know confidence is key, but McArthur, Cabaye, Benteke and Wilf are low on confidence too. I personally think their worst performances are still a vaguely respectable standard. What Puncheon, Ledley and Delaney contributed on Saturday was just awful.

I'd be surprised to see any of them start for some time, and the only thing perhaps keeing Joel Ward in the side is a lack of options, unless we play Tomkins as a full back.

We have to build the midfield around McArthur/Cabaye/Luka. We have to play Remy as a 10 because there is no one else. We simply have to get Sakho in the side.

It's a shame because for so long these players have made Selhurst a great place to go, but we simply have to get more quality into the team now.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Yep, totally agree with this.
