We're fast approaching the point where we'll need snookers to stay up.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Definitely NOT at this point but a 4-0 home defeat to Sunderland does not fill one with any confidence that we can extricate ourselves from the mire.Today was a nadir as far as I was concerned and I was sorely tempted to leave at half-time.

After this gutless performance against Sunderland I think the very highly paid Palace squad should hand over a full week's wages each and put it behind the bar of a recommended pub near Selhurst Park and invite all supporters to drown their sorrows for a week on their tab.

I think that in the last half dozon or so minutes of the first half today we went from "probably staying up" to "probably going down".

Our chances are getting slimmer as the number of games recede but had we won yesterday we'd have risen to 15th in the table.

Unbelievably, we are still in with a chance but our team needs to change drastically. Not going to pick on individuals but there are at least three who underperform consistently and need to be dropped for the inevitable relegation battle.

Next weekend is crucial, Swansea v Leicester - if we win and that match is a draw at best, we leap frog them both. Hull have Utd and Sunderland at Southampton. Of all those teams, us playing Stoke looks the easier of options.
On paper we can pull away, but it's just not happening for us. Sometimes it just doesn't work and right now, that's us.

Sunderland were not very good today, but then neither were we.

What royally pissed me off, PVA arm around Defoe at the final whistle having a good old chat - not the time, nor the place. I wanna see our full back limping off having done everything to redeem a 4-0 result.

Not a hope IMO. 14 months of playing woefully in the league has take its toll. Confidence, ability & the players who were up for a fight have all gone. We are left with a bunch of overpaid mercenaries who only signed for us to raise their profile and live in London ... and a bunch of Championship players who are terrified of playing week in week out.

We deserve to go down. We're being humiliated weekly and it's embarrassing ...

The real battle is how we prepare for next season as it looks like this one is over ...!

All this talk of clean sheets is nonsense. If we get 14 0-0 draws we are down. So completely contrary to our new belief under SA our only hope is out and out attack. It was painfully obvious yesterday that our players are alien to SA style. The first half was worse than watching paint dry. Our tactics if there were any were terrible. It's the worse I have ever seen our team play. The trouble is we are not planning to attack and if we don't then we are down. What a bloooody mess.

not only will we be in the bottom 3. It will be the very bottom, or maybe its clag-nut hanger on position - second from bottom.

no way will we 'just go down by the skin of our teeth'

Eze Peasy at Anfield....
