Pathetic attempts at PR spin by the club (see link) is causing me a problem.

This reaction to the game from the official club website in which it effectively concludes we were unlucky against Sunderland is an insult to our intelligence.

Obviously in the second half the visitors sat back and conceded possession, which resulted in some powder-puff attempts their 'keeper easily dealt with.

CPFC have spun those stats to reflect we dominated the game and had most efforts on goal!

Totally pathetic.

Having watched both SA post match interviews I make him 100% correct in his assessment. He will earn his money if he can rebuild this mentally fractured team. Our loyal support showed their collective pain and frustration yesterday. Like any bitter argument between the partners the spleen has been vented the bile of rage and disappointment released. Let this be the end of it win loose or draw we have a club and six years ago so very nearly didn't. So chin up Crystal Palace FC including its supporters is a credit to its community and to the football community to boot.

I think the big problem is mentally. As a fan I am sick to death of loosing, I don't really look forward to games and am so nervous during the games sometimes I feel sick. If we let the first goal in now I know we will loose. If we miss a couple of chances I know we won't score. If a player f***s up I scream at him....

Now if I feel like that as a fan....how are the players feeling....

That's actually a Joel Ward interview and I doubt that he's particularly well-versed in media spin. Factually we did have two thirds of the possession and twice as many shots.

There is 0% chance Joel Ward dictated the narrative put out by the club's PR team.

If you think this interview is all about the right back with no regard for the message the club are attempting to convey then you are very naive.

There's only ever been one problem and that's Pardew.
This charlatan has gotten away with it since he took charge.
He had a good spell but he papered over so many cracks with the cup run.
And because he wasn't sacked early enough, we are now paying the price.
Its that simple.

I fully agree. Pardew should have gone after the disastrous second half of last season. Sadly the F.A cup final papered over the very obvious cracks. I mean hell, Man Ure won the dam thing then sacked Van Gaal the next day! In Brede Hangerland's recent rant he said about Pardew 'He seemed more interested in attack than defence'! These things are fundamentally important for a football team so to neglect the defence was just plain crazy! Even after yesterdays humiliation we're still very much in with a chance and we can only help Sam can work some of his magic. I thought after Bournemouth we may have been turning a corner, then this! These players are obviously emotionally wrecked or something, we need a bloody shrink on Sam's staff too!

Very true. The drive up to Selhurst with my Dad is not a jovial experience. The atmosphere could be cut with a knife. This is the worst I've known it for a long time.

We are last years Villa. There is always one team whose players throw the towel in and this year it is us. We won at Bournemouth because they are even worse than us at the moment. As soon as we play a motivated team like yesterday we are clueless

As much as we all love Scotty Dann he isn't the captain on the pitch in real terms, he was given the job in the hope that he would grow into it ( at least that's what it feels like to me) We didn't buy a recognized captain to lead the team during the window & no one to me looks like stepping up to it ( not from what I have seen) does anyone know if our new Serbian midfielder or even the defender from Liverpool could do it ?

So what are the problems?

The wrong person chosen for manager IMO.

There seems to be only one real problem & it's psychological.

Whether you call it belief, confidence or anything else, it is clear that the team is profoundly fragile (from psychological point of view). The pressure at home is absolutely huge so I have every expectation that our points away will be more readily won (if at all).

A year (or more) of mismanagement has destroyed the soul of this team & we all need to help bring it back.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!
