Perhaps the vast majority of pundits etc are saying we are doomed now will actually get the players to realise staying up is not something Sam can deliver without some serious grafting from them. We seem totally shot at home so let's hope we can spring a few surprises away.

I am waiting for this 'Just look at this closing down, and this too. And here, not giving (insert top names of top teams) to play out or pick a pass or anything. They have to go backwards again, and again. And again here. And here is when they pick their moment. They break with pace, belief, desire. And if they do that, they'll stay up.'

I've heard that twunt Shearer say that a million times but he's right, it does keep you in this league. Haven't seen us do much of it. This is the kind of hard work and cohesion needed, not 4 days in Dubai with a day lost either side from flying. Time to get honest with each other.

I meant him not coming back if we go down.

Agree with your 'it's not over till it's over' attitude.' Some of the wetter ones are tightening belts ready for the run in.

I think the club should send us supporters to Dubai for a few days instead. I could do with a break having to watch that lot every week. Good call by the club though. Even though I think at the moment our days are numbered, a win on Saturday will do us the world of good, and with Boro coming up,it may give the players the belief that has been missing, and bring a bit of confidence back. However, it didn't work after the Bournemouth match, so why am I still thinking it?

Indeed. For the love of me I cannot find any 'Blessing' out of Saturday's result.
Really is getting very close to "Squeaky bum" time.

Perhaps won't be too long before I start drawing up my 'Shortlist' of managers whom I would consider for next season in the 'Championship', if Allardyce is not around.

When you've finished that, make a start on who we can sign on the playing side, because I predict that the ships will be deserting the sinking rat in their droves.

Maybe many will be encouraged to move for financial reasons.

We supporters look towards relegation with horror for obvious reasons, but i do think about the non-playing staff who might lose their jobs as a result of our fall.Very sad indeed.

That's a good point actually, and they won't have been on £50k+ a week.

Not this one; perhaps the next game.

Too many absences [or players forced to play through necessity] of key players through injury/walking wounded/visa delay; and too many new faces to fit in.

Asking us to jump from the depths of despair to some sort of high in only 7 days when we are still way short of a settled first team is a big ask. However, we will see an improvement. Then again, if the team just put their shirts on and stood stationary in a row, that would still mark a considerable improvement on the first half on Saturday.

I still have a feeling that one of the big clubs will be taken by complete surprise when it all pulls together at just the right moment; and we will scrape survival.

I might be wrong (I will need to check) but I have a feeling that Sunderland only survived after back to back victories over Chelsea and Everton before their final game. This will do for me !
