And as far as Sam goes I don't believe he has commited any crimes.

you don't need to commit a crime to be a wrongen. I know plenty of law-abiding unethical greedy prats.

They can claim that the moon is made of green cheese but that doesn't make it correct.

Anyone who holds up a banner defaming the manager and also abuses the players has lost all rights to be called good fans let alone best fans as after all they could be replaced on match days by a troop of gibbons if all that was required was to jump up and down and make a lot of noise

What I don't get is why everyone else is so obsessed with them and what they think. We had the thread after the City game desperate to know where the HF were.

They're good fans and make great noise, but I really don't think their opinions are anything to put great stock in.

I thought my mother liked to exaggerate but she's not a patch on you

I doubt whether a thread every few months can be classed as obsession and most people who respond certainly don't seem to be "obsessed" at all.

I also think that your use of the word "desperate" is worthy of the over reaction of the week award too

After the match last Saturday I think that the HF were expressing what a lot of us oldies in the Main stand maybe would have done in years goneby,as a team we were awful and the abuse that they got on this occasion was deserved, only hope that has given them a painful reminder of what is expected of them from the fans whose support is usually unwavering.

I'm not a member of the HF. There have been few times when outside the ground they've frustrated me for being unnecessarily aggressive but that isn't just reserved for the HF, that's football unfortunately.

However, the 'outrage' at the abuse they gave the players is ridiculous. We've been cr@p at home for two years and in that time Selhurst has remained the most vocal atmosphere in the top flight, largely due to the HF. Being 0-4 down at half time to a relegation rival with the players seemingly lacking any bolloŁks whatsoever meant they deserved everything they got. I'm still fuming with then now.

I was sat on the other side of the tunnel - so watched from about 10 yards. They were over the top. I understand why, I felt let down, but it was pretty foolish and childish, and they are lucky if some of them don't end up banned. Several were physically violent with the stewards, at least one was spitting on the players. That's not all of them.

I have no problem with them in general, and most of them weren't any worse than half time, but some I think, were it not for the stewards blocking them, would have been a lot worse.

That said, it doesn't excuse the performance against Sunderland. I understand why they were angry, but it IS just football. But then I was also young once....

Its also hard to find the enthusiasm to sing when you concede three goals in four minutes, to go in 4-0 at half time.

I understand where they're coming from. Its hard to keep showing the faith, when we play like that. I think the silence of the ground in the second half said more than the post-match tunnel bundle.

They've not said anything about Pardew have they? Where do you get the idea they want Pardew back?

They don't claim to be anything. Please could you reference where they have said "we are better than the rest of you"...

Us "ordinary" fans built them up, and when things go wrong you try to break them down.. it was us who put them on a pedestal.

I never get why in football it is deemed as acceptable to abuse players when they have a bad game. Been to Cardiff when England got battered by Wales in a grand slam decider they absolutely bottled it but nobody was abused, fans didn't run along a stand to "get to the players"

This cobblers about "I've paid my entrance fee I'm entitled to boo and moan etc" Would you boo a singer if they sang out of tune or if an actor forgot some lines?

Besides does anyone really think it bothers the players? You might get one or two but who thinks Damo had a sleepless night Saturday? Our supporters that sing and dance and wave those pretty flags have such an affect we've had the worst home record in the last 14/15 months so if they sit down and shut up will the team perform any worse?
