They are quite clearly with out a doubt talking about premiership tourists ie those who just go to any ground to watch a premiership game just coz it's a premiership game and not palace fans who live abroad or can't get to games frequently.
Before calling fellow palace fans morons understand what you're reading
Too many HFs threads on here

Who gives a toss. Its like visiting The USA & going too watch a Yankees game much to the annoyance of low Income fans living in the South Bronx or watching a Miami Dolphins game where locals cant get tickets, It happens!!

Well you say that, but there were only 14k or so per game when we were a championship team, until we looked like a team that were going to win promotion...

Its all well and good banging on about tourists, and the like, but when we were s**t, there were still 11,000 seats. Then in the premiership there was capacity per game (or there abouts).

When we're relegated (now or some point in the future) within a season we will be down to 14k or so again.

Truth is, we have nearly as many tourists as fans.

Hang on..........but we are s***e

As long as it's not to the detriment of the club I don't see a problem with "tourists".

I was probably a tourist at one time, taking in the odd game and it wasn't really until I started taking my son that I became a true supporter.

I often have tourists in front of me in the Arthur, most of them have a club shop bag in their hand and I have even seen a family of four all put new shirts on when they have got to their seats.

People who start off as tourists will often become supporters. To dismiss the. Out of hand is short sighted and frankly ridiculous.

I like most of what the HF do but they do get a bit carried away from time to time. This is one of those times

the dignified don't even enter in the game

I suggest we need all the support we can get.
I would guess our hard-core support only numbers about 12,000, and we're lucky to get that in a cup game. So almost half our usual gate is made up of "tourists" and away fans, be they from abroad or more local.
If we get relegated and spend time out of the Premier League our average gate will fall by 10,000 and we will be grateful for all the "tourists " ,"plastics", "nigels", whatever you want to call them, that come to Selhurst Park.

So, genuine question: When you meet someone for the first time, and talk comes to football, and you find out they are also a Palace fan, how many of you then go on to ask if they have a season ticket, how many games they attend, if they are local, if they have been there in front of 5,000 on a cold February Tuesday in the 3rd division, etc? Or do you all, like me, just light up a little bit and chat about the club?

I've introduced people from the USA, Spain, Botswana, Canada, to Palace, who have gone on to attend games - would anyone actually rather that didn't happen in order to preserve the 'purity' of the fan base?

When I was at school everyone liked Nintendo but I liked Sega. I got the mickey taken out of me because I had a Sonic the Hedgehog pencil case. One day I finally found an ally, someone else that liked Sega. Instead of befriending him I tried to "out-Sega" him and started showing off about how long I had had my Sega Master System and how many games I had.

I'm glad I am not 11 any more.

I will be honest I always admired these guys to some extent for their passion and commitment however the post they made on twitter today about international members is beyond stupid and goes to show what a limited bunch they are and how little research they have done. Yes I live away from the UK and I am so sorry they feel I am less off a fan than them because I don't walk around with banners and devote all of my weekends to Palace like they do. However what I will say is that not only in Toronto but across the world that have formed supporters groups and regularly watch the games at various venues together and sit through watching the same drivel that all of them have to put up with. So if we would like to attend a game when back in the UK they should offer us a little more respect and not come out with rubbish like this. Morons!

Will be interesting to hear others thoughts on this.

I for one welcome you as a fan and see you as an equal for supporting the same club as me regardless of how long you have done so.
Don't listen to the little gang of ill informed self important idiots that think they have a right to pick and choose who comes to games and who don't.
Way too big for their pampers.

They were of course wrong to post this.
And I don't think they meant it in the way of blocking all overseas fans. And yes who can stop people supporting our club. I wish someone would have stopped me!
However....
I am a season ticket holder in block Y of the Arthur and is becoming increasingly pissed off with day trippers filming everything including me and my kids, asking to take photos of them etc etc
This is the stub hub era that has destroyed atmospheres at the likes of white hart lane and now destroying selhurst so I kind of get their point, or at least the point I think they were aiming at!

So, correct the HF shoudlnt have posted this, but I think I get what they were getting at.

Rubbish, stop making excuses for them. They don't get that kind of tourist where they stand so why would they be aiming their comments at the Arthur? Answer, they are attacking ALL overseas fans. Read what it says.

I think that it's more a case of the HF understanding what they're reading. The club's message was clearly aimed at the genuine Palace supporter, living abroad, who want to attend a game when visiting the UK. The HF have responded to this with a rant about so-called 'tourists', which could easily be construed as offensive by an exiled fan. My personal view is that I have no problem with any neutral who wishes to buy a ticket to see a PL game. At the end of the day their money's as good as anyone else's and I didn't see any complaints about all those extra 'supporters' who emerge from the woodwork every time we get to Wembley.
