Coming from the sort of background I do, I should be a Labour voter but I've never voted for them.

My grandad was a staunch Labour man and he could never understand anyone born of the working classes voting any differently.
That was a different time though but I still agree with his principles.
It's just a shame the modern Labour party don't feel the same.

I'd just like to point out that I have no political persuasion anymore.
They're all useless, pointless w***ers to me.

Just out of interest how would Blair be regarded if the Iraq invasion had not happened? Just judged on the rest of what he did. (Should add I lump him together with all other daft lib/left politicos, just interested in whether the current Labour supporters hate him for things other than Iraq.)

Thanks Hoof, I haven't visited here since I posted.

I think most of the other people have stated the reasons for my statement. - Blair is a war criminal who has put the safety of British people in jeopardy since pis sing off those he decided (wrongly) held WMD's. And his pig ugly missus is as bent as a nine bob note, again as previously said, for the way in which she obtained a discount (back hander) when she bought the flat in Bristol.

Remembering back to the time we went in to Iraq, as I recall most of the country were in favour of going in. I was, and I can't help feeling many who now hate Blair were too. So, morally, if he's a war criminal, a lot of us are too.

It's easy in retrospect to judge. The longer you govern, the more people you'll piss off. That happens. Not going in also has it's problems, witness the mass slaughter in Syria. How does that sit with everyone's consciences?

Blair has not helped himself by not admitting he made a mistake bearing in mind what we now know. But the hatred towards him is well out of proportion.

Calling his wife a scumbag because she's a human rights lawyer.... interesting point of view (I know that wasn't your point Martin)

Mr Blair took us into a war after he consulted with his god.

Mrs Blair, as a judge, let someone off because they were religious and she felt that this meant that they didn't deserve to be gaoled.

I haven't read what he has said and he may well be correct but if people are still against Brexit, the last thing they need is his support.

That was when we were all lied to and believed it was the right thing.
I hated watching the bombardment of Baghdad. It was chilling.

It was Tony Blair with his legal training who pressed the Americans to go through the United Nations for legitimacy otherwise Bush and his team were prepared to go to war without the UN.

Why Sadaam did not admit to the UN that he had no weapons is a mystery as he did not have any, the UN gave him chance after chance but he would not comply.

The tory opposition supported the war in all the votes.

Unjustly abused TB.

Hans Blix stated that over 700 inspections no weapons of mass destruction were found. Do you not remember the sexed up dossier and he subsequent untimely death of David Kelly? Abuse fully justified. They were determined to invade Iraq at whatever cost. If it was a Tory PM he or she would quite rightly also be receiving abuse.

I could swear that I remember him trying to justify invading Iraq with the notion that they would subsequently have democratic elections. Funny how democracy has lost its appeal to him now.

To be honest if it wasn't for him helping to plunge the Middle East into turmoil and massively overspending in the UK, I doubt the country ever would have voted for Brexit.

Anyone involved in a property scam is a scumbag, but even her husband (the king of scumbags) admitted she had been involved.

A human rights lawyer that directly benefits from her husband's political interference in rewriting legislation is a scumbag too.

That is different from branding all IFA's as scumbags (which you inferred and presumably was a direct dig at me as a former IFA) and Human Rights Lawyers as scumbags (which you inferred I had done).

Not such a silly Portuguese sausage am I, No?
