I think Townsend earned a start after his performance against Stoke. Also, is Dann still out? If he is I would go with... Wayne Ward Tomkins Delaney PVA Zaha JM JC LM Townsend Bentenke I don't think now is the time for experimenting and Luka looks from early impressions like he might be the man to stabilise us in the middle of the park. We then have the pace of Schlupp and the guile of Remy to bring on if we need to push on more later in the game. For this tactic to work both Townsend and Zaha are going to have to be on their game and not allow themselves to be kettled.

Ward is well off form and struggles to get passes out to Zaha, Tomkins has been poor. No matter how badly he has ever played I've never seen Kelly try to hide away, he makes himself avaliable. He's always giving his all even when he's getting embarrassed by a winger. I think he offers more than Ward going forward and is a better tackler.

I agree, he should be considered more of an option. Ward is well off form and struggles to get passes out to Zaha, Tomkins has been poor. No matter how badly he has ever played I've never seen Kelly try to hide away, he makes himself avaliable. He's always giving his all even when he's getting embarrassed by a winger. I think he offers more than Ward going forward and is a better tackler.

The crowd got on Kelly's back for that Manchester City game but he kept on trying and didn't let it get his head down. Right now Ward seems too affected by the situation, and to me Tomkins has shown a real lack of character or anything since he got here.

I think Sterling this season when Kelly was played at left back and Martial last season. The crowd got on Kelly's back for that Manchester City game but he kept on trying and didn't let it get his head down. Right now Ward seems too affected by the situation, and to me Tomkins has shown a real lack of character or anything since he got here.
