I agree a keeper needs to command his area, but I don't know where you get this idea that Speroni did. He was a great shot stopper, but found wanting under crosses in his prime, I doubt he has improved with age. Mandanda didn't show a commanding presence in his area.
This constant pulling apart every aspect of Hennessy performance is weird. He is not the best keeper in the Premier, but he is not the worst. I see other keepers make many errors weekly.

I wholeheartedly concur with these sentiments.

If anyone shoots straight at Hennessey (which was all Boro could do on Saturday), then he's your man. As little as an inch to his left or right and he's f*cked.

Far, far too one-dimensional for the Premiership.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Unfortunately, WBA will be told to keep slinging crosses at him all afternoon, we could be in big big trouble!

Liverpool hit it straight a Mandanda, but he still managed a push it into the net. No big outcry about that, because he is the French number 2!
Just for a bit of balance.

Uncontested bullet header from 3 yards, yeah he had a good chance of stopping that! What about the one he touched on to he post, Hennessey wouldnt have got anywhere near that one!
Lets see what everyone is saying after WBA spend Saturday chucking crosses at Hennessey, see how he copes with that...its a big worry!!

It wasn't three yards more like six and it was a header ffs not a full blooded shot. As for saying he wouldn't have got near the one Mandanda saved he was fast enough across his line to save Wilshere's free kick against Bournemouth.

You can't possibly say that Steve isn't good enough yet but defend Wayne at every opportunity you get, and be sane.

Not at all. I still think he's the best of our 3, but he will never be accepted whilst 'Jules' is still playing. SM isn't interested, so best if all 3 go and we start again.

WBA have scored more from set-plays this season than any other PL team and central defender Gareth McAuley is their joint top scorer.

Saturday could be painful if WBA do that at every opportunity.
We need to stop them getting the opportunity though which will be as important as WH having a good game.

Ok it was a header, headers can be pretty powerful, as was that one,or else all headers woud be saved if they were just weak....whatever you hennessey lovers say..he wouldnt have got anywhere near that shot Mandanda touched/saved on to the post...I am not championing Mandanda, I just think we havent seen enough of him to make that judgement, however we have seen (more than) enough of Hennessey to know that he is nowhere near good enough for the Premier league. I really believe we need a new keeper in the summer.
Lets see what wayne does v WBA shall we, if what Willo says about WBA is true, Wayne's in for a torrid time on saturday, lets hope he can cope!
