There are quite a few posters in the same vein as Legal in the 'comrades' group that are not only supercilious but also overbearing, condescending and patronizing which has put a lot of the posters off from indulging in certain threads due to their attitudes.

If then above isn't trying to score points then I'm not sure what is.

I would prefer if the threads hadn't descended into the manner they have as well. But your post added to that, not reduced it.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Who though, exactly, are the Liberal Left Elite?

They are most of the leaders of most of the institutions which run our lives, like the judiciary, the BBC, the universities, teaching, social services, many councils, the top of the medical profession, the boards of all quangos.

Why is it then, that all these important institutions have 'liberal left' leaders?

Its not like we've actually had a liberal or left wing government since the 1979. Is it something to do with education? I note that almost all of the professions listed have a high threshold of educational entry to work in, let alone be in charge of.

In an odd twist of Liberal Leftism, MI-5 is noted for being very progressive in the UK, being the first government agency to hire women beyond secretarial, and long having a reputation for cultivating diversity.

Even when infiltrating left wing and liberal movements like CND, The SWP and SP.

Blair was liberal left par excellence. Nick Clegg in the coalition certainly was. Cameron himself was in many ways a a 'liberal' in Tory clothing.

Blair was marginally to the left of Ken Clark ....Possibly and Clegg was, sadly just a figleaf. though we are seeing just what the Lib Dems protected us from, at least for a few years.

Cameron was liberal on social matters and actually rather brave on things like same-sex weddings but he was harsher even than Thatcher on economic matters.

And his appointments were undoubtedly "sound"

We have never been governed by a Liberal elite but we have been by decades of public school tossers.

Regardless of how liberal left the governments of the last 40 odd years have been, I stand by my original point - "Ye shall know then by their fruits" [Matthew 7]

What do you think this 'liberal / left agenda' is and why do you think these 'elite' pursue it?

Rod Liddle summed this up well in a recent issue of the Spectator: "Try being a social worker who thinks gay adoptions are problematic. Or a doctor who disproves of abortion or gender transitioning. Or a student who quite likes Germaine Greer and wearing a sombrero. Or a teacher who thinks Trump is maybe OK. (The headmaster at a school in south London recently told pupils that if any child uttered the same sorts of words as Donald Trump about immigration, they'd be excluded.) Try being a judge who thinks an awful lot of hate crimes are imaginary or vexatious. In all cases you'd be drummed out. No job, You'd be finished. There would be tribunals - where you would be judged by other upholders of the liberal elite - and you'd be out. That is what we mean by the liberal elite."

Liddle also addressed the notion mentioned here that we have had years of non left liberals in these positions: "I remember as a speechwriter for the Labour party in the early 1980s suggesting that we do something in support of the teachers, who were complaining about pay.'F**k them - they're all Tories' I was told. And so statistically they were at the time. And in the 1970s the BBC, the Church of England, the judiciary and the emergent quangos were small 'c' conservative. Elites last for about two generations. Our liberal elite has lasted since about 1985."

Which illustrates your touching naivete about the way such matters happen at times in the real world,on all sides of the ideological divide

Your condescension, self righteousness and obvious chip on the shoulder are quite quaint too.

I know all I need to know about Ricky Tomlison thanks.

Kisses.
