Its about honouring the contract, he knew the details, he asked for it to be paid early, he knew what he was up to, why did he lie about buying a property as being his reason, and i bet we are honouring pardews contract, rightly so

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I cannot believe some people on here saying that we "look cheap" for taking Pulis to court over this.

He did a magnificent job for us and he is a very good manager but for me, that was all undone the moment he threw his toys out and left us in turmoil 2 days before the season started.

Here's my understanding of what happened;

He didn't get the signings he wanted so he got on the blower to his contacts and pimped himself out for another job. He got job offers pretty quickly and, with the the clock ticking, lied to Parish to get his bonus paid early and left as soon as he could.

He obviously didn't give a rat's arse about Palace or us fans. He's got history for this kind of behaviour with other clubs as well. The Judge even said his conduct had "been shown to be disgraceful" when ruling against him. Horrible, horrible man who deserves everything he gets.

Not much by way of legal jargon but IMO a pretty accurate summing up of the likely events. I basically think that he believed he could roll us over and that timing was everything as his stock was high. Had he told the truth to the board he probably wouldn't be staring down the barrell of a £3.7M judgment debt which, incidentally won't be doing his credit score a lot of good.

Unfortunately winning a court case and getting the debtor to pay are two entirely different things. I have learnt this from my own experiences and have had to employ the sherriffs office to force the outcome to receive payment. It can take years and thats not counting if their is any reasonable course of appeal from the MR Pulis.
I rest my case.

He must be out of time if he hasn't already lodged an appeal and there have been no reports that he has. So probably would need to apply for leave to appeal out of time which would require him to show grounds to justify the late appeal.

As for enforcement that mainly proves difficult when a judgment debtor has no money. A bankruptcy petition would probably create some interest!

Something like £1.5 of the near £4 mil total is money owed to CPFC from the tax paid to HMRC immediately after Pulis got his payment. CPFC agreed in court to help Pulis get this money back off HMRC to then pay back to CPFC.

Indeed. I am (was) a chippie by trade & a guy bumped me for 900 odd quid. I was actually just going to shrug my shoulders & not worry about it, but my work colleague said 'Its alright for you, your a single bloke whereas i'm a married man with two kids'so we took him to the small claims court where we won our case.
The big issue was getting this scumbag to pay up. He only did when we took out a garnishee order on him.

He's been a Premierleague manager for years... I'm pretty sure he'll be able to pay.

There have been alleged stories of Pulis involving tranfer dealings and payoffs in the past.

However in this court case SP well and truly reeled TP in over the bonus payment in terms of reasons given for the early payment by TP-Needed money to purchase land for his children - however no land dealings were found to be done by TP
Heated Players Meeting (HPM) date-date given by TP he stated it was held on 12 August and had O'keefe, Bannan and Price in court to back TP's lawyer up.

Also in court TP's lawyer had argued that TP had agreed to stay at Palace at least until 31/08/14-(An undertaking SP had asked TP prior to agreeing to paying him the bonus early) but apparently comments made at the HPM had changed his mind that's why he left the club.

But TP had been paid the bonus early by SP on 12/08 and left the following evening 13/08.

The Panel said there is not one single item of objective contemporaneous or forensic evidence that positively puts Mr Parish at the training ground on the morning of 12 August and in fact the HPM had taken place on the 8th August.
The original ruling by Sir Michael Burton had found TP standard of conduct 'to be disgraceful'

Panel outcome-The real reason for wanting the bonus paid early was as TP had secured a more lucrative contract elsewhere.
Thats why TP has been facing a bill of £3.76m plus interest and costs which presumably has been rising ever since it was awarded!!

He will answer: 'The lawyers have told me I can't talk about it,' for however long he is asked the question.

If that is one, two, three, four years then so be it, he's a stubborn old sod.

The case is over, judgement has been made, he is free to talk about the case, but does not want to because he has been exposed as the liar he is.

We don't know the reason he left but he did put himself before the club whom had/were giving him millions of pounds. That is his prerogative. He kept us up and did an amazing job.

He left when he did and it left us in the lurch big time and I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. Felt exactly the same when Dowie left like he did.

Frankly these people do fantastically well out of football, I don't shed one tear if the reason for leaving is that great they can't wait a week or so for getting several million or however much it was. Lots of people stay in minimum wage jobs for years, hating what they do, but still turning up every day because they aren't as fortunate as TP and many others in football.

His leaving left us in a bad way and if anyone looks cheap it's him in my opinion. Screw him.

Agree 100% it just boils down to greed in my opinion he didn't fulfil the terms of his contract regarding the bonus it's a open & shut as well as being greedy you could say idiotic as well for not doing things the correct way. All this was easily preventable don't blame SP for pursuing it whatever disagreement happened beforehand all he had to do was sit tight for a couple of weeks then take the money & run.
