The book referred to by Hedgehog is a black propaganda piece written by two journalists whether you believe any of it is entirely up to you but at £28 a go you might want to give it a miss.

McGuinness has form, Bloody Sunday with an automatic weapon. We can't talk about that though as it doesn't fit the narrative

McGuinness doesn't seem to have done much to counter the claim.

Before people get too self righteous, lets not overlook the report of the public inquiry into Bloody Sunday:

"The British government Tuesday released a damning report into the 1972 Bloody Sunday massacre, placing blame overwhelmingly on the British soldiers who killed 14 people in Northern Ireland that day.
The 1972 shootings at a civil rights march in Londonderry hardened anti-British sentiments in Northern Ireland, according to analysts, and led to many fresh recruits to the Irish Republican Army. Three decades of violence followed, known as The Troubles, in which almost 3,000 people died.

There was some provocation by the Irish Republican Army in Derry on that day, but nothing that justified the shootings of civilians, the report found.
British paratroopers on that day had no reason to believe they were under threat from the victims, gave no warnings before firing, and lied to the far-reaching official inquiry into the seminal event, the inquiry concluded.
Only one casualty was associated with the IRA, and he was probably not posing a threat when he was shot fatally, the report found.

Members of the British Army fired more than 100 rounds in violation of orders issued to every British soldier serving in Northern Ireland at the time, the report found.

"Some members of our armed forces acted wrongly ... and for that, on behalf of the government, indeed on behalf of our country, I am deeply sorry," British Prime Minister David Cameron said after the release of the long-awaited report.

...report found no indication the soldiers were firing at people they thought were posing a threat or that they missed, the report said.
"All the casualties were either the intended target of the soldiers or the result of shots fired indiscriminately," it states.
And the soldiers in Derry that day who were interviewed by the inquiry lied in their testimony, the report added.
"Many of these soldiers have knowingly put forward false accounts in order to seek to justify their firing," it said."

Surprise surprise...yes there were big mistakes made that day, that cost people their lives.
But you and your like have no idea what those soldiers had in their mind the danger they must have felt.

Easy to condem from the dining tables of Islington.

I don't normally talk about my work on here. But,just to show quite the degree of ignorance behind your lazy and silly jibe ,I will this time (from my dining table in S London)...I acted for an ex-para in relation to the Inquiry...went to Derry and attended it...I suspect I therefore know somewhat more about it and the feelings of the paras involved than the likes of those writing from their dining tables in Bedford

Very honorable of you,so that must give you an insight to what they were going through then...if you read my post I have said innocent people died, but I wouldn't have liked to be in that position of the soldiers and could not be sure how I would have reacted.
So before you start to patronise anyone about their posts, read it first.

Don't try and backtrack now!You thought you were being clever but were just being ignorant and silly...no getting out of it...You been told what was in the paras' minds then by them? Thought not.I have.At least have the grace to recognise when you've acted like a bit of a fool,no?
