Chelsea have the best manager in the division and I have no doubt will have done their homework on Wilf.

What we need is for Andros to step up to the mark and produce the goods whilst Wilf is being kicked about.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Was going to post in the week about how he needs to consistently contribute to more goals either through scoring or assisting to start being considered in the same breath as the truly top tier attacking players in the league.

Anyway, after 1 goal and 1 assist today I'm glad I didn't post that.

Incredible performance today. He should bring something around 35 to 40 mil in the summer, in the context of what bolasie cost.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Nothing under £50m should even be discussed.

Always been baffled by the anti Wilf publicity, don't understand what he's done wrong.
For me Wilf has always delivered. Yes his decision making has matured in the last two seasons and his scoring this season, but the no end product bulls***, has been exactly that, bulls***. If he had no end product we and he wouldn't be where we are today and he wouldn't have nearly 300 apps in his career.
He's been persecuted by the meaningless assist stat that is peddled out time and again. Today him and Tekkers got assists for basically nothing, but they become assists because each recipient didn't miss. Until this season he's been let down by some very poor finishing and had to work with Adebayor, Campbell, Doyle, Wickham, Gayle and Murray. Of that lot only Murray really understood him and was a reliable scorer, but I think it's fair to say no World beaters.
As for the pundits the trouble he has is that he plays for CPFC. They basically watch the highlights of our games unless we're playing the top boys. If Wilf isn't involved in the highlights then he's had no impact and he's dismissed. They've made up their minds like they did with Walcott and no matter what happens they just trot out the same tired clichés like they've always done.
Wilf has been our player of the year two season running, unless something extraordinary happens in this seasons vote. You don't win these accolades if you just do the odd skill or have good spells in games. You win then for having good/great games regularly and being a real influence on the team. No doubt Shearer will go on that he's listened to him and he's now starting to realise his potential, but to me Shearer was just being lazy and spouting all the old clichés rather than actually watch full matches of Wilf and do a proper analysis.
Anyway after ignoring Wilf playing superbly for nearly 2 seasons England will live to regret it, but the icing on the cake for me is he's mugging off man Utd on a weekly basis.

Ok, it is the Daily Mail so I guess I shouldn't be surprised but the comments under the article! Jeez... your average Daily Mail-reading football fan is both dumb as balls and bloody horrible.

Here is a very thoughtful article that takes the comments made by Southgate and Mills and relates them, very properly, to continuing issues of race and the British imperial past:

That article is a load of nonsense like most over indulged racist ideals.
Who knows why Wilf opted for IC. I don't know the guy and I'm sure he has his reasons, but I would very much doubt it was a racist thing.
My GUESS is that he was fed up with the English reluctance to pick him In the weird rules of football he can choose his country and he thought ballox to you lot Im going to go and play for my country that anyway wants me.
Its all a bit weird cos in the last couple of months Wilf has been on the form of his life and keeps getting better by the day. At Chelsea he tore into them like there is no tomorrow.
All I do know is that I am really pi**ed off that he isn't now an England player and I bet so is Gareth and millions of other English fans.
Having said that, who can blame Wilf for choosing IC?
I thought it was a bad decision but look what it has brought. A fantastic goal v Russia and now a bloke who has risen to the top of the pile of his sport since. Flash in the pan? No way. Bad luck for us English? You bet.
Would England have restricted his talent? Definitely.
So far the outcome for Wilf has been incredible. Long may it continue especially if it is at the Palace.
Will he stay here? Please god yes, but one thing is looking sure, Wilf will make the right decision for Wilf, I just hope it is to stay.
But whatever the outcome we are witnessing first hand an emerging world class talent.

As a Palace fan, I am ecstatic that Wilf chose the Ivory Coast. The England set up would've stifled him and he'd come back from international duty knackered and jaded. He came back form this break full of confidence and energy.

The England national team has been black hole of talent, ideas and energy for decades. I feel sorry for anyone who's caught up in it.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.
