Often employees are afraid for their job or 'making a fuss', and don't report all manner of things. Clearly someone saw it, and was concerned that it was 'somewhat hostile or threatening'.

What Moyes actually joked was that the lady might get a slap "even though you are a woman". How in anyone's imagination can that be taken as sexist? He's actually saying that being a woman won't (as it usually would) protect you from the kind of treatment a man would expect in the same ironic (i.e. Jokey) situation. I'm not saying it was the right thing to say; just trying to counter some of the hysteria (mostly on the BBC).

It is all very weird. Never thought Moyes would be like that, perhaps the pressure is telling. But how could anyone think it would be ok to say such things in a recorded interview?

Possibly a more understandable comment, but seems to ignore the fact it appears to have been a joke? If Linekar was playing today he would not fall down when he got tripped up, he would float up and about just like all the other snowflakes at the BBC
