All the schools around me try various schemes to raise ££. Some of it is pretty heartbreaking where they will charge a quid here or a quid there for simple stuff. Some parents struggle to always do it, so their nippers miss out. It's a little bit s*** for those kids.

What sort of things are we talking about?

I have worked in school finance for years and never had a school or talked to any other schools that have asked for contributions from parents. There maybe contributions for trips or expectations that parents provide basic equipment such as pens but have never seen anyone just ask for money to keep a school afloat.

I am not saying it doesn't happen but it actually smacks of poor management.

As much as it flatters me to see this thread turning in to a speculation about my identity, can we just ignore those who wish to derail all forms of political conversation and do the thing they want least, which is to discuss the issues of this thread like adults?

Have you ever participated in revolutionary activity?

Your posts are not those of 'an adult'. They are cliched, adolescent drivel. They are based on emotion rather than fact. Your debating style is deliberately antagonistic. When questioned you hide.

I didn't say he was a genuine political revolutionary or a middle class spotty oik from Redhill. Nor was I bothered.

What prompted me was your attempt to label everyone from the opposing political view to you as using a particular deflection method, which you yourself had just done.

It was a riposte to your previous post.

Go back and read it, dear.

OK then.

Right. Jeremy Corbyn has no chance of winning an election.
What he says therefore has no baring on anything whatsoever.
As opposition leader in this position, he can promise what he likes and criticise all he likes because he knows he will never have to deliver on any of it.
All the time the Labour leader represents a small minority within his party and in the population, you are wasting your time and ours by starting threads like this one.
Come back when Labour are perceived to be more centre Left and electable.

Here's something that might surprise you. In most bookies I've checked, Corbyn is actually second favourite to be PM at the next election. 2nd, out of near enough 60 million people.

Clearly what he says does have a baring then. And what he's saying is significant because if, like for most of the country, the prospect of another tory government is totally unpalatable, he's the best chance we have. There isn't going to be a centre left option of note, not because corbyn is silencing them, but because the centre left lost the last two elections, and has nothing to say that connects with people. If it did, the lib dems would have more than about 4% of the vote share.

Another facetious response. You are just proving me correct, time after time.

I don't think HMRC will be pursuing IR35 cases on more historical basis, they'll be focusing on whether its Public or Private - And they're going to get around that problem, by getting the company employing the contractor to make a decision and extract a form of PAYE before payment to the umbrella or limited company.

That way, it'll be up to the contractor to prove they are outside of IR35, and it can simply state that 'they and the company' agreed that the ultimate source of employment was a public entity.

Realistically, IR35 is the least of the issues. The new tax legislation due to come in on the 6th will be the basis going forwards.

I was talking to a "headhunter" last week, who said that when Crossrail tried to change contractor statuses in one sweep for all individuals, all the senior contractors immediately resigned and walked off the site.

The next day it was announced that status was going to be decided on a case by case basis LOL.
