Think Millwall would draw the line at appointing ex palace icon and manager. It was bad enough for them to have Holloway, and he'd only ever been at the club 5 mins...

Pardew will resurface at Fulham or QPR. If not then likely get a gig on the Mercenary Circuit in China, Abu Dhabi or MLS...

Highlighting Swansea away in a crazy game is one thing, but I think conceding that late goal at home is almost bigger. An unexpected three points for them, whereas if we'd seen the game out it would now be a six point gap to them.

I know that was very early on in Sam's tenure, but there were too many moments early on in his reign where we couldn't quite get it done. Ignore the Sunderland game which was a complete freak, but Damo giving away that penalty at Watford/Benteke missing his, Everton scoring while Schlupp was down.

Shows how much it took from him to get us in the better position we are now!

Problem is that with a few more points comes a few more months of Pardew gradually eroding all professionalism from the squad and adding more heads who cannot perform under him. End result is the task Sam has had at some point or relegation.

Parish clung onto the hope he'd come good after stupidly extending his contract and even admitted a point at home v Man Utd might've kept him in the job. Kind of lucky the arrogant fool subbed Macca off for Campbell after getting lucky the week before to leave a hole for Pogba to exploit and set up Zlatan for the usual goal gift.

I quite liked him.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I certainly don't hate him, but he is a charlatan and a bluffer. Remember all the talk of 'coming home' and all that? The minute he had a bit of success with us and his stock rose, he was having interviews in the paper saying how he 'wanted to test himself at a big club'.

[Link]

Filled the coaching staff with nepotistic appointments, not made on merit, but on people that would look up to him, and treat him like the top man. I think deep down he's quite insecure and wants to project himself like some kind of Alpha Dog, hence the 'meal-gate' incident at West Ham and getting rid of any other leaders that may hold sway.

All in all, don't rate him in the slightest, but do still have a soft spot for him. If we go down, that'll be harder to maintain, mind you. I still hold him culpable for our current state, no question.

exactly. I liked him for his confidence and experience as a player, but he was SO arrogant after achieving nothing really. That is, up until the FA Cup final- where he danced away our win like a fool.

We would not be beating Arsenal 3-0 tonight if he hadn't saved our hides two years ago. Thanks, SuperAl.

I am so sorry because I get annoyed at the multitude of Pardew posts and I really thought it was time to let it go.

But Big Sam has come in and got us 12 of our 31 points in 4 games and when we lose matches like tonight we should be nowhere near 3 points of the bottom 3.

Yes, I know Managers get sacked all the time and I should be grateful Sam has turned it around to at least give us a fighting chance but Pardew not at least getting 2 more draws is disgusting.

All those games against mediocre clubs where we didn't have to go gung-ho and he stuck on 3 strikers and lost. Just 2 more points now would be so crucial for us.

I feel like I'm sitting in my kitchen with tears streaming over a puddle of dairy on the floor, and I'm fairly sure there's a saying that says I shouldn't be doing that!

For me it was the Man Ure game. 0-0 on 87 minutes so Pardew (like a t***) thinks "we can win this" and takes McArthur (our best player on the day) off and on 88 minutes Man Ure score. Any other manager would have settled for a hard earnt point but not the t*** Pardew!

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

Nor would we be beating them 3-0 if he were still in charge. And even if we were we'd be convinced we'd lose it 4-3 in injury time.

Pardew's game management was terrible. He kept us up on the wave of enthusiasm that surrounded the club when he was appointed. I sang his name along with many others but his faults are clear to see now.

There will be a time when we speak ill of Sam, but what he has done in the transfer market and the last couple of months has been superb particularly after his poor start. He's even got the forward line working better than Pardew did !

Excellent decisions from the board and we are in a very good position to stay up
