Hopefully Dann mith the back.

Dann is out for season. Hopefully Tomkins will be though.

Yup, he is a centre back and always has been. Not sure why Pardew ignored this and forced him to look below average at full back.

Now we can see why Pulis bought him. If we can get Sakho in, I'm confident that in Sakho, Dann, Tomkins, Kelly and Delaney we have quality for next season in central defence.

Centre Back is definitely his position. I was always disappointed and worriedwhen he was selected to play at full back. He was dreadful, but delighted to say that he was great last night and I hope he gets more games in central defence as he definitely deserves a place there.

He played CB at Anfield last season and made an early error when Lallana scored but after that he was superb and we won the game.

He has the build for a centre back, but at Liverpool he never actually played centre back, only right back. So to say his position has always been as a centre back is wholly inaccurate.
He, along with the entire team, were tremendous last night. Sakho is the key in the back 4 though. I suspect with Kelly and Damo at the back we might struggle away at Liverpool.

Yeah I'm feeling more relaxed with him and all the CB's with Sakho next to any of them.

Sakho was captain of PSG at 17, he knows what he's doing at how to get other players around him to do what they should be doing. This is the element of the game that Dann - and Delaney and Kelly and Tomkins and Hennessey - lack, which is why any combination of the foregoing that does not include Sakho looks shaky.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Sakho has been a tremendous signing for us and no dout that he is the man at the back we have needed . The more important part of the jigsaw though is Miliovioviovovic who has proved to be an outstanding player in protecting the centre backs .

Ive always thought Kelly a decent player who just needed a position to call his own .CB looks like the best position and if I recall his England cap back in 1972 ,I know that's wrong but it was a long time ago was as a CB sub .
We have decent Centre half's , Kelly ,Damo Dann and Tomkins are all capable players but like all defences they cant do it on their own ,they need a warrior in front of them and we haven't had that since Jedi was in his prime . The Croatian will turn out to be one of our best signings

And we still need a striker

They are not inaccurate , he played youth football there and has even said himself he's sees that as his best position , due to being at Liverpool and bad injuries , he's just never had a run at cb , when he plays at fb he looks like a cb playing out of position.

Please link to anything that confirms what you are claiming as everything I have read shows that he has always played as a full back
