Free speech doesn't protect you from public opinion or the consequences of your actions it only allows you the forum: nor does it dictate that people have to accept what you say or protect you from the public opinion and nor should it. It only protects from the states ability to legislate against what can and cannot be said. KM courts public opinion so often and finally that has come back to bite him.
