MacKenzie has transcended the 'freedom of speech get out of jail card' for too many years now. He is an insult to responsible journalism and needs to be sacked. Can't understand why other Premiership football clubs don't demonstrate empathy and follow the example of Liverpool and Everton. What football community, when it comes to ethics?

Errr....You only speak for yourself and those crazy enough to want the restriction of freedom of speech beyond threatening violence or proven libel.

MacKenzie's an arsehole but I don't want the kind of 'taboo' society that you seem to want.

Freedom of speech has already been damaged in this country.

I think as a person Mackenzie comes across as mean spirited and unnecessarily vindictive.

However this whole incident is completely stupid and it is just the manifestation of how stupid and politically correct society is now.

The whole thing is completely the fault of left wing activism.

Apparently an arsehole isn't allowed to make a living now.....Some of them should sack themselves.

Fecking 'salem witch trials' every other week.

Of course 'witch hunt' is very much in keeping with Sun reporting. Live by the sword and all that. I don't really care if it was racist or PC or not, the man has a history of being a blight on journalism. Free speech doesn't protect you from public opinion or the consequences of your actions it only allows you the forum: nor does it dictate that people have to accept what you say or protect you from the public opinion and nor should it. It only protects from the states ability to legislate against what can and cannot be said.

KM courts public opinion so often and finally that has come back to bite him. If The Sun sack him then that might be a free speech issue which would be a double gift...
