Listening to Corbyn's speech in the debate, he seems to be going even further left. Expected him to say "all power to the Soviets" at some point. Banged on about re-nationalising the railways so that they are owned by the people and run for the people. I'm old enough to remember when they were last nationalised, as one of the people who apparently owned them, all I can remember is miserable, scruffy staff telling you that you could always walk if you didn't like it, when you complained about late trains, dirty overcrowded carriages and constant fare rises.

Don't really use trains these days, I used to commute into London from Croydon many years ago. Last used a train in December 2014 to go from Oxford to London to see the Rembrandt exhibition at the National Gallery - didn't get in, didn't know you had to pre-book! Train was clean and on time, pretty full but got a seat. Staff not officious and rude as they mostly where in the 70s. That was the last time I went to London, found it overcrowded, expensive and grubby and full of foreigners and/or 'British' of foreign heritage. Pretty depressing really, won't hurry back.
