Where to sit...

I appreciate this should be in ticket talk but I have put it here in the first instance to hopefully get some more attention!

I have taken my five year old to a couple of games this year and he is hooked. I am looking to purchase a couple of season tickets for next season but am unsure where is the best place to sit with him. It clearly has to be in the family stand but is it better to sit in row N of the Whitehorse Lane (nearest away fans) or to go for Block J near the back (row 27 - not restricted view)?

We have sat in the AW for the games this year (and I previously held a season ticket in the upper Holmesdale) but I think the family stand is the most appropriate place.

Any advice (in relation to the above) most welcome.

I amight be wrong but think there is a family section in the mainstand. Used to be the Advertiser section but think its changed. If i was going to take my child it would be in there. View is great side on and no aggro from away fans abusing you.

Agreed. Plus the Crystal Girls walk past you a couple of times and you get a lovely symphony of excessive perfume usage.

I presume that's the family section in the Main Stand? If so, the view's fine & it has a 'lounge' for pre-match refreshments etc Row 28 might be better as it's the very back & you can stand & sing or shout without upsetting too many folk.

If my lad were still a young 'un I'd prefer to keep him away from some of the gobs***es that rock up in the away section.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

We have sat in the Whitehorse for a number of years (primarily because my kids used to get a free season ticket), but are swapping to the upper Holmesdale for next season. The decision was made due to our proximity of the away fans and our dire (at the time) home form. I would not recommend sitting near the away fans unless you can guarantee our home form will be excellent!!!

It's daft having the away fans next to the family stand. I appreciate why it happened when we couldn't afford the extra police/stewarding costs but that isn't the case in the big money league.

In answer to the OP, I would get tickets in block J of the Old Stand or to the right (as you look at the pitch) of the Whitehorse.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Thanks for the replies. I went for Block J in the main stand. Roll on next season.
