Despite our fantastic run (and me backing wins against West Brom, Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool), I am unable to predict a win against Spurs, and so fully support a rested team selection and then send back in the first 11 to spank Burnley - for which game I predict nothing less than an emphatic win.It makes total sense. Yes it will mess up our fantastic stats but so what.

I don't disagree, but...

Is Sam inviting a fine from the League for fielding this side (and hurting Chelsea)?

I do not think you can be find.
That was the point of a named 25 Man Squad.

Mind games. Sacko PVA and macarthur in tompkins, schlup and cabaye rested. Then see how the games going. This team are really fit now, on a high and will be dying to get at spurs.....Bring it on.

Tomkins is injured anyway. Sakho in for sure, and maybe Delaney and rest Kelly? Plus as you suggest schlupp and cabaye rested. McArthur and Van Aarnholt in for sure. Punch probs needs a rest but not sure who would come in for him?

Well he can, but was not in the match day squad Sunday so very much doubt it.
Might as well send the lad back to Chelsea.

Agreed he'll probably make an appearance in the 88TH Minute against United at Old Trafford.

Expect PVA and McArthur to start, Sakho obviously comes back in. Other than those, it's difficult to say where else he'll change. I think if he's considering starting Sako in place of Zaha or Townsend then we might as well not bother playing any of the first XI.

I could perhaps see:

Hennessey
Ward - Kelly - Sakho - PVA
Milivojevic - Flamini
McArthur - Puncheon - Zaha
Benteke

We've also closed out games with 5 at the back, if it's level at half time then I would be surprised to see us play the entire of the second half with Delaney stuck on to hold out for a 0-0.

If we get fined Stoke should get ninety days without the option.

Probably the only way to play three games in Six days.

I'm up for changes but I don't think there'll be many

My guess would be PVA for Schlupp,
Mac and Flam for Luka and Cabaye, Campbell for Benteke,
Sako and Damo at the back
Lee and Sahko for Zaha and AT (they ran themselves into the ground)
Right back, no idea, it seems we only have one specialist RB.

I think Sam's deprioritising this match.

He would be if he put that team out, all at once but I don't think it will look anything like that.

Sclupp has hardly played and it just getting some good playtime in. Luka is fine and would not need to be rested, he came in Jan. Tompkins has a knock but sakho is back. Jimmy Mac for Cabaye I could see, maybe PVA for wilf.

Sam may do a couple of changes but he's not going to weaken the team now is he. We are playing Tottenham after beating Liverpool.

Surely kelly doesn't need a rest. Barely played until 3 games back
