Our troubles are not ancient history. Most of my palace supporting life has been highs and extreme lows and I have never experienced this kind of stability. I'm only in my twenties and I think the majority of our fan base is like us on this board, we recognise how much this period of stability means to this club and I think it will take a lot more than a shiny stadium for us to forget the administrations and the docked points and the loss of our brightest stars. I think for the rest of my Palace days I will cherish the days of Wilf and bolasie on the flanks tearing teams apart and hopefully This current crop as well can carry on that tradition.

Anything we achieve from now on is made sweeter by the tribulations of our recent history and that's why I can't see complacency and expectations becoming an issue any time soon.

I took this as a challenge. I found an 'and' after a comma. I also found a stray 'be'.

Other than that very impressive.

To be fair to Ginge, he only congratulated the OP on SOME faultless grammar and punctuation. Ginge never said that it was all faultless

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Ha. Definitely an Oxford comma though.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Also, many compound words used to be hyphenated. To-day, for example.

If I WAS a modorater I wood ban anyone for life for even menshunning gramarrr speling or punkchewation; good point thread initiator - and it will happen probably - expectations raised so more of that fair weather Surrey lot we used to get pre-Sainsbury's when a Man U or Liverpool or Spurs or Arsenal would get 45000 in - we were always talked of as a sleeping giant back then - I was there v Burnley you know. I hope we can knock on the top eight door next season or two, win a cup perhaps, get into the Europa in two or three seasons - and could we go one better than Fulham did a few years back - harder now with the Champs League entry for the winners, but we could have sustained success, but the hardcore atmosphere that has grown since our various bankruptcies will no doubt get a bit prawn-sandwiched, inevitable, c'est la vie c'est le football.

Maybe it's because of my age that I can understand why Newcastle United fans feel "entitled". When I was at primary school, they won the FA Cup three times in five years; since joining the League in 1893 (I'm quoting Wikipedia) they have been in the top flight for 85 seasons; they have won the League Championship four times, and the old Inter-City Fairs Cup; and they have had vast crowds through thick and thin. I think that by any standards they can be described as "a big club". I'm pleased they're back in the Premiership - and I hope we wallop them 5-1 again, as we did last time we played them at home.

And to get back to the OP (note: sentence beginning with "and", the absence of all this historical baggage means that Palace supporters will never - or at least not in my lifetime - feel any "entitlement".

So, to return to the OP;

And no, you can't have me on forgoing abbreviations full stops between O and P; that would simply be pedantic.

Thanks - I'll blame the phone's autocorrect and my lack of focus whilst dodging a fellow traveller's sweaty pits :-)
