I don't think anyone's suggesting Babacar to replace Benteke. More like as backup or as a second striker to upgrade Campbell and give more flexibility, depending onb what Wickham looks like when he comes back (and ongoing concern about his fitness). At the moment Benteke is one of the men on whom we are heavily dependent. I'd say Milivojevic and obviously Wilf are too. At this juncture I'd want players who are going to stay fit and work hard rather than brilliant superstars who enjoy physiotherapy. Wickham's injury is not his fault, but we need to reduce the risk of that sort of s***e. So no more Remy clones, please. Let Campbell and Remy go. Bring in a permanent possibly Babacar although his name keeps cropping up every season, Defoe looks better to me, and bring in a decent loanee like Tammy Abraham.

We keep being linked with this guy for the last 4 or so transfer windows. It reminds me a lot of Wickham, in that we were linked with him for a lot of transfer windows before we got him. I've said in the past and still think he is a very good fit for us. A understudy to Benteke, from what I can tell he has very similar attributes. He has scored 9 goals from 17 appearances which suggests he is not a regular in the Fiorentina team and comes off the bench a lot but does impact games. Have always had the feeling we will sign him eventually. [Link]
