Sam says "respect the point." He will play as normal a game - for him - as he can with the players available. We will go for the clean sheet that guarantees a point, after which there can be only one other result - a Palace win.

All along this is how Sam has said his team will play. This is how we will play on Sunday.

Spot on. Hull will have to throw everything at us, come what may of the Swansea result. They cannot rely on a result against Spurs due to their goal difference. They have to really beat us. We need to set up right, let them come and see what they have. If they come out playing we can hopefully pick them off on the counter.

You're right. Just looked it up

We best Boro 4-1 in the previous home match

which like this season's Liverpool result

'gauranteed' our survival [ in everyone's opinion ].

I'm taking nothing for granted. Burnley's win against us and Sunderland's win at Hull will tell one anything can happen. There might be a few twists and turns yet with nerves playing their part and perhaps 'Lady Luck' as well.

This!

The arrogance of expectation some fans have about the Hull game is astounding. Such arrogance came up short against Burnley and could well do so again on Sunday.

I'm worried about relegation because Hull are playing with pride and passion, things we don't seem to know much about at present. Also, after last night, it's pretty clear that on the last day of the season Spuds will have nothing to play for. They're comfortably second and will finish second regardless. That can only be good news for Hull.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

Maybe so, but the last time Hull faced a team that had nothing to play for, it didn't turn out too well for them, did it? Here's hoping the same thing happens on 21st, if it needs to.

if we do stay up, we will be the weakest team to do so.

Be under no illusions, the two teams getting promoted are strong. Swansea are winning games at present. And even Hull can hurt us.

major clearout needed over the summer.

its better for us to be consistent against the bottom dozen teams in the league than getting the odd big scalp Champions League type team from time to time.

So after two bad results, you think we've lost our pride and passion? And you think Hull's 2-0 loss at home to Sunderland involved a fierce, passionate display?

Wow a couple of weeks ago after beating Chelsea arsenal and liverpool, next season we were going to do a 'Leicester'. A couple of weeks and a couple of injuries later and we're going to be the worst team in the league. Amazing.

Disagree with pretty much all of your post!

If we stay up, it will be because 3, possibly more, teams are weaker than us.

The two teams getting promoted, Newcastle and Brighton, need lots of new players to compete in the PL. Who knows if they will work together or not, neither are particularly strong.

Of course Hull can hurt us, although even a loss means that we have a chance my matching their result the following week.

A minor clear out is needed, strategic purchase are necessary.

I'm very happy beating a few of the big boys, makes the season much more interesting.

I agree with what you say about complacency (I am terrified about this game) but I disagree with the emboldened part: did you see them against Sunderland??

Hull NEED the win, we dont. As such they will come at us as they need to score...as I mentioned on another thread...provided we can exploit the gaps they leave (this mean Benteke playing as if he's interested and holding the ball up allowing the others to support) we should be OK

The problem that we're all having is that we turn in one of two kinds of performance: either a) outstanding or else b) total s***e. Nobody knows whether we're going to get a) or b) but we assume we won't get anything in between.

As long as we don't do another Number Two therefore we should be fine.

Benteke has been our main/only striker all season he has been interested all season or we would now be down.
