1. Defend, defend, defend.
2. Zaha shut up and don't get carded.
3. Don't commit forward AT ALL, except for hoof-balls.
4. Lock up shop. 1 plan. For 90 mins.
5. Don't allow them to play.

A team needing to score a goal cannot beat a team only defending. I know this will get negative responses, but this match is different. All we need to do is hoof the ball way for 90 mins. They'll be forced to commit more players, and we'd probably get goals anyway from only a Zaha/Tomkins + Benteke. I'd be very disappointed if we can't manage this simple objective.

We cant defend so we should use our best arsenal wiv our front 3. Give the ball to them and bloody pray

I don't actually expect Hull to go all out attack against us. They will just commit men on the numerous free kicks that we concede in our own half.

Silva is a good coach and therefore he won't want to give us the ability to counter attack.

Sorry mate but what is your problem? You really think people are suggesting we keep the defensive 'hoofball' tactics IF THEY FRIGGIN SCORE? The idea is that they DON'T. If they do, then that strategy is f&cked ain't it?

I think I'd be happier with this if I thought that hoofball was actually a strategy. Sadly I think it reflected a lack of passing accuracy more than deliberate intent.

They need a win so I don't think they can commit three players to Wilf. I think he'll get some freedom playing on the right especially as Robertson likes to get forward for them and will thus be open to a quick break down that side.

We need to frustrate them early and avoid an early goal at all costs. They will become more desperate and ragged as the game goes on the longer it stays at 0-0.

I suspect Sam will have drilled the team this week - like he did against Liverpool - not to try and break unless Hull are committed upfield in numbers. That way, we avoid giving the ball away cheaply, stretching ourselves and giving them more and better opportunities. Milivojevic, Puncheon and Cabaye or McArthur will be critical in winning and keeping the ball in midfield. Punch's ability to slow down play while keeping possession will be a key, I believe.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

It'll be good to see that as a positive trait for once!

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce: "The pressure lies on Hull. They have to win the game, we have to draw it.

"We play not to lose - that is the key element... there is Hull we need to compete against, and the size of the game. Whoever deals with the pressure better is a big factor.

"Our crowd will be a big help as long as they get don't nervous. If they get nervous, they can pass that over and that will make us a bit more nervous. We have to deal with the emotion of the game on Sunday and come out on top."

I won't get nervous unless we let them score early and then have to chase the game. Hope it's not like the 3-3 at Hull, which was nerve wracking, although there is no Snodgrass to earn a perfect 10 for the swallow dive. Hopefully Wilf will get another screamer like at the KC and Mr Campbell can stroll on and nod one away to add to the Benteke header in the first half.

Hull need to win, but they don't need to win it in the first 10 minutes or even the 1st half. They will set up to frustrate early IMO and help cause unrest and anxiety in the home crowd. This will be easy to do as we have that f***ing Oldham scenario to deal with from 92. I know it's a long time ago, but if that memory didn't exist we wouldn't be half as anxious as we are now.
Personally I would set us up to counter, even at home. Many may moan, but we went after Burnley and they looked like scoring every time they countered. We are just not secure at the back when we go after teams, it's why Pardew lost his job and Sam hasn't changed it since he came in either. If we can stay calm, eventually they will have to come for us and then we can pick them off.
After saying all that Sunderland will probably win on Saturday.
