More evidence that Jose supports Palace

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

One is reminded of the final day of the 1992/93 season (Arsenal v Palace, where we needed a draw to ensure our survival). The FA sent Arsenal fax messages (remember those?) warning them against resting players ahead of the FA Cup Final the following weekend, as this would be unfair on 'other clubs' (i.e. Oldham).

How times have changed, eh?!

Needless to say they didn't (rest players) we didn't (secure a draw) Oldham didn't (fail to secure a win)...and the rest is history. And, of course Arsenal managed to win the cup despite their exertions in beating us.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

This morning TalkSh!te were saying it was "understandable" if United put out a weakened side that day and they had to think about their own priorities. But that it would be regrettable if that were to the disadvantage of Swansea and Hull.

Errm but Spurs will have nothing to play for and West Brom will be sitting there on towels with their stereos and their windbreaks sending one another for ice cream.

All the FA could do is fine them & deduct points. Which wouldn't affect them winning the UEFA Cup and getting a Champions League spot.

But how funny would it be if they lost the final!

And it's MasterCard now, not Barclaycard.

The whole thing is bollocks. If United we're going for top four and Spurs got beat as they had nothing to play for, how unfair would that be? The fact united will be resting players and Spurs will be sulking and possibly not playing to their full potential actually makes it a fairer outcome. Both Hull and ourselves have an opportunity to get a positive result in the final day. Don't get me started on WBA. It looks like a good treble, Hull, Palace and Swansea all to win final day!

Mmm, Hull and Swansea maybe, but Palace being Palace, even if MU fielded their U18 side we'd probably c0ck it up.

What's this got to be with Palace talk. Hopefully the game becomes irrelevant but let's worry about hull.

If you're hoping the ManU game is 'irrelevant' by then, then until such time it must therefore be 'relevant'. Which is why it's in Palace talk.

I imagine all Palace fans of a certain age are thinking of 1993, hence shredded nerves and fingernails in advance of this weekend.
