Within 20 years, even if you knew exactly where you buried the body, and had placed markers, the body would likely have shifted from that site. But still the police and media kept humouring these two allowing them to relive their actions. I think sadly it was more a case of trying to keep the family of keith bennett happy saying they were doing all they could to find his body. Totally understandable why they wanted the search to go on but the police must have known the chance of finding him was almost zero. Just horrible.

Interesting call on radio 5 this morning from a psychiatric nurse that knew Brady as he worked in his prison. He claimed that many lifers were allowed to kill themselves as medics and prison staff looked the other way but Brady was watched carefully by everybody to ensure that he never had the opportunity to take his own life in order that he could suffer as long as possible

Having no control over his own fate probably drove him right to the brink. Hence wanting a move to prison so he could have the control over dying (prison authorities cannot force feed prisoners whereas they can in a hospital setting as he was deemed to be insane and therefore not mentally capable of making a rational decision)

Read this some years ago. This was the partner of Hindleys sister and together they blew the whistle on Bradey and Hindley. What he witnessed that night isn't for the feint hearted.

The body was still at the property albeit concealed in a sheet when police arrived in daylight hours following Smith's call . He was also the main prosecution witness during the trial and copped a hell of a lot of flak from locals over his connection to the pair. As I say I read the book some years ago maybe five , but one line from it I have never forgotten. Smith's description of the smell of the dead body of poor Edward Evans. As I say not for the feint hearted.

However, creating systems of morality is something else entirely. While I feel you could be accused of a certain amount of semantics I respect your opinion and thank you for the reply.
