We haven't seen a Sakho/Dann pairing yet have we?

I expect Sakho/Tomkins to be 1st choice and Dann might get a go if one of those gets injured, to show Sam he can recover his form pre being Pardewed.

Dann to s being paid £65k a week. Sam and Sam won't let him sit in the corner and not many will try and buy.

I wrote damo off at the play off final. I thought that would be his last appearance for us, look how well he has done since then.

If you think that resigning Damo stops us signing Sakho then you have absolutely no idea how much it would cost to bring someone in from outside the club. If anything keeping Damo increases our chances of having enough money for marquee signings.

Lastly, Allardyce knows a thing or two about dedfending, if he is happy then that's good enough for me.

I can see dann being sold to help fund the Sakho deal. 1st cb pairing - Tomkins and Sakho. 3rd choice Kelly , 4th choice Delaney. This would also use more funds for the rest of the squad. Even when dann was fit. Big Sam preferred Tomkins and Sakho for the Chelsea game.

DD has been absolutely fantastic for this football club and is not one of our top payers - rumour is c£20k a week. Any new deal may be appearance related in part.

Yes the recent Burnley game was a massive concern but he has performed well this season and has often looked more assured at the back than Tomkins (who cost £10m) and was preferred as a partner with Dann for parts of the season.

Back in Feb (only 3 months ago) at Stoke the CB pairing was him and Tomkins and he looked the more commanding of the two.

He is also left footed so that helps (especially if we don't get Sakho).

DD has proved the doubters wrong so many times that I believe he can contribute for another season.

Incidentally of the young CBs coming through, the main 2 have been loaned out to Exeter and Southend this season. If the opinion is that neither will make the grade then we do need cover.

Last season we released 2 CB and only got 1 in so we were short from day 1.
