His interview in the programme on Sunday was interesting. I know he's got quite a dry sense of humour from listening to interviews, but he came across in the programme as not being massively content. Doesn't seem a fan of the French rap they play in the dressing room (can't say I blame him) and says he's only got one mate (Joel Ward). Also said he can't stand Glenn Murray and wants no part in Football once retired.

After reading that I assumed he would be retiring at the end of the season and that's the last we'd see of him.

I read those notes too and was convinced that Sunday would be his last appearance at Selhurst. I don't know if he was joking but he doesn't seem to get on with his team mates anymore and sounded totally fed up.

Whatever happens with Damo he's a club legend and deserves a bit more respect than some give him.

For me I'll never forget how he had Costa in his pocket and made him look like the pussy he really is.

Yep. Costa wasn't as hard as some of the big lads Damo played against in the lower leagues and Damo bullied him. Was a great watch, as Costa was making a real effort to compete with him.

However, Damo and his left hoof can surely only now be good (and quick) enough for emergency cover or "we hold what we have" defending from our 18 yard line in the last 15 minutes.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Damo is like Punch and Jules - a fantastic addition to the dressing room and a proper Palace man.

Keep him, just don't play him too much

Absolutely, just short of 190 apps in 5 seasons, cost us nothing from Ipswich and has been a rock solid part of the team helping us gain promotion and keep us in this division.

He may be slowing down but he's a far better option than wasting a few million on a player that will sit on the bench as cover.

How much ££££ have we wasted on Fryers/Mutch and co in this time.

I agree, it's no different to having JS as the third GK; they can do the job when called upon and don't make a fuss when they're not.

If it's true, it's yet another overly romantic decision and proves we aren't learning from our mistakes. Continuing to pay the wages of a 35 year old who isn't good enough anymore, when we could be using the money on Sakho instead.

He may have agreed a vastly reduced wage/bonus to stay on. Makes sense if you don't want moving costs or to have to uproot your family. If we're paying him a lot less than his last contract he's worth keeping. He knows he will never again be first choice. Its good to have professionals that will keep themselves game ready while warming the bench without complaining

In the Burnley game Damo was the only player with a shot on target.

So sell Benteke and play him up-front see if he accepts hoofs from the rear.

I can see dann being sold to help fund the Sakho deal. 1st cb pairing - Tomkins and Sakho. 3rd choice Kelly , 4th choice Delaney. This would also use more funds for the rest of the squad. Even when dann was fit. Big Sam preferred Tomkins and Sakho for the Chelsea game.

I agree; we'll have either Dann or Sakho alongside Tomkins next year, but not both. To be honest, Dann is a hard sell and Sakho is a tough buy, so I suspect it'll be Dann.

Kelly is back-up and Delaney is injury cover. It means that we can try to sign Sakho without having to worry about what not signing him does to the squad.

I am hopeful that Dann will be less injury prone now that we have a manager who understands that hard training is what helps prevent stress injuries.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

When he played against Burnley, he didn't look fast enough

He was exposed by a non-existent midfield. That game is a bad one on which to judge anyone's performance. Also, very few (if any) CBs are going to win a foot race against a whippet like Gray who'd come on with fresh legs after 80 minutes.
